  1. Ugh I am so very, very jealous of your haul!

Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone was fabulous. I want my own copy, but I'm on a book-buying ban right now :( It was sooooo good though, so I hope you get to it soon!

The Turning! skjdhfkshjdf That cover just makes me want to read it so bad, but I don't actually know what it's about. Doesn't matter, I like Francine Prose.

I am almost 100% sure you will hate Need.

    1. I know. Your love for Amelia Anne Is Dead and Gone made me that much more excited about it. I think it's why I chose it actually. :-p

Actually, I know nothing about Francine Prose, but I hope I do get to those two sometime soon.

      I was afraid of that.

  2. Oh the things, I want all the things too! Especially Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone and The Turning (although I too have no idea what it's about but it looks spooky - that's enough for me!).

You are indeed a lucky bastard.

    Enjoy ! :-D

  3. I was going to be a stealthy ninja...but then I saw The City of Dreaming Books, and I had to comment. Because I remember coming across that book at Barnes and Nobles last month tucked on its side on some random shelf, and I was all like "OOOOO, this sounds like Shadow of the Wind. I HAVE to remember the title of this book so I can request it from the library!" It turns out I have way too much faith in my memory. So I went back like a week later and I was so happy it was still at the same spot. BUT the library apparently didn't have a copy *tear*

Random story~ But I would love to know what you think of it, so I can maybe buy myself a copy later.

How odd that I was looking up Fforde's The Woman Who Died a Lot the day before....actually, it isn't since Penguin tweeted about it and I was all "I like that title!"

I keep getting Amelia Anne Is Dead and Gone mixed up with Kill Me Softly. Surprisingly the only review I read about Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone didn't favor it too much.

I just received a copy of Allegiance a few days ago, so I guess I will have to start that series soon. To be honest, it doesn't sound like my kind of book, and it's a bit on the longer side, which scares me.

    OOOOOO, Lucky Bastard!
Happy reading~ & audiobook listening! Which reminds me that I need to get back to listening to Unearthly before I forget what happened.

    1. Haha, I remember when I first heard of The City of Dreaming Books too. I was in Carnegie Main, the main branch of the Pittsburgh Library system, and saw a book cover with tons of books on it, so had to investigate. It was the German edition. :)

Maybe you will win one and it would get to Hawaii three months later!

Really? I've only seen glowing reviews of Amelia Anne!

      I don't think it's a you book at all. O_O

      Thanks!

  5. "I don't know how to edit videos; I'm sorry!" Oh man, that made me lol forever :) I want to hear all about your trip! I'm sure you guys had a blast.

I totally didn't know R.L. Stine was still publishing books. Oddly enough, his Goosebumps series is still really popular at my library, and I have to suppress my grin a little when kids ask for them because I loved them when I was 8. Even though it's getting horrible reviews, I'll probably read his new one, just for funsies.

Yay, Nori! Is In a Heartbeat the book about the figure skater? If it is, you know I have to read it!

Ahhh, Jasper Fforde! Lucky Bastard! Almost everything you got sounds super awesome to me, too. Excellent book week!

    1. Woo! My lack of skills is entertaining at least!

You can have my copy when I'm done. Even if I don't hate it, I doubt I'll be adding to my collection permanently.

      No clue.

      Woo!

  6. Christina! I got The Turning this week too. It's a re-telling of the novella, The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. You seriously won like everything this week! I so want to read/get my hands on Liar and Spy!! Also, In a Heartbeat does involve a figure skater! Good memory, Heather!

    1. Oh really? That's awesome, but now that I know that, I feel like I need to read The Turn of the Screw first. Hrm.

Actually, I won a lot of this a while back and it just all arrived this week.

  7. WOWOWOWOWOWOW. Awesome haul, Christina! I am so, so anxious to see what you think of The Turning. It sounds so good and creepy and the cover is just so eerie and awesome and I'm beginning to get incoherent and AH! And good luck with Red Rain. I didn't *hate* it, but I did not have one positive thing to say about it.

  8. Yay for rocking the messy pony tail ;-) Love it! Poor Kitty!

I always have high hopes for R.L. Stine but I have heard such bad things about it, I hope you prove it different!

Love the pictures at the beginning of every chapter in The Bookie's Son, I hope you like it.

I totally don't say where they are from either, so I always make sure to write a note at the bottom because I am a failure like that.

I reallllllly enjoyed Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone, I had that one randomly gifted from another blogger and it was such a great surprise. The writing is STUNNING.

Love the creepy cover of The Turning!

Awesome haul this week chick! Must have been so fun to come home to all of those packages.

      ...PRESSURE...

I meant to do that note thing, but I forgot. I will do that next week!

      Yay! Glad you loved it.

Coming home to those packages was like second birthday!

  9. Nice haul this week, Christina. You win so many books! Jealous! Also glad you enjoyed your vacation but you must not have spent much time in the sun if you came back pasty white!

Thanks for bringing my attention to The City of Dreaming Books. I had not heard of it and it sounds like a series I would really like. :)

    1. Haha, I can't complain, though some of those were from ages ago!

I don't spend hours in the sun in a row, I don't tan easily, and I used SPF 50. Thus no skin color change.

      Right? Moers is so great!

  10. Ahh! I want an epic pile of books that is waiting for me when I return! Actually, I did, except that they were from the library. *le sigh* nothing I get to keep, but the important thing is that I'mma read and review them.

*ahem* and this should mean many, many more reads and reviews, yes?
Enjoy your haul!! I'm excited to hear about these books!!
