The Turning! skjdhfkshjdf That cover just makes me want to read it so bad, but I don't actually know what it's about. Doesn't matter, I like Francine Prose.

DeleteI was going to be a stealthy ninja...but then I saw The City of Dreaming Books, and I had to comment. Because I remember coming across that book at Barnes and Nobles last month tucked on its side on some random shelf, and I was all like "OOOOO, this sounds like Shadow of the Wind. I HAVE to remember the title of this book so I can request it from the library!" It turns out I have way too much faith in my memory. So I went back like a week later and I was so happy it was still at the same spot. BUT the library apparently didn't have a copy *tear*

How odd that I was looking up Fforde's The Woman Who Died a Lot the day before....actually, it isn't since Penguin tweeted about it and I was all "I like that title!"
I keep getting Amelia Anne Is Dead and Gone mixed up with Kill Me Softly. Surprisingly the only review I read about Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone didn't favor it too much.
I just received a copy of Allegiance a few days ago, so I guess I will have to start that series soon. To be honest, it doesn't sound like my kind of book, and it's a bit on the longer side, which scares me.

Haha, I remember when I first heard of The City of Dreaming Books too. I was in Carnegie Main, the main branch of the Pittsburgh Library system, and saw a book cover with tons of books on it, so had to investigate. It was the German edition. :)

ReplyDeleteI totally didn't know R.L. Stine was still publishing books. Oddly enough, his Goosebumps series is still really popular at my library, and I have to suppress my grin a little when kids ask for them because I loved them when I was 8. Even though it's getting horrible reviews, I'll probably read his new one, just for funsies.

Christina! I got The Turning this week too. It's a re-telling of the novella, The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. You seriously won like everything this week! I so want to read/get my hands on Liar and Spy!! Also, In a Heartbeat does involve a figure skater! Good memory, Heather!
