I hope Paper Valentine is really good, Christina, a I'd love to read it too! :) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, since I'm reading it either way. ;)
DeleteI'm so jealous that you got Paper Valentine! I sent in an ARC request yesterday though I highly doubt it'll be approved, but I still have my fingers crossed! I haven't heard great things about her 'The Replacement', but I *have* heard great things about her 'The Space Between', which I think is her second book, so I'm hoping she did improve as an author over time, and that Paper Valentine will be amazing! And I'm also super interested in what you think of Touching the Surface! I love books dealing with the afterlife, if they do it well (*glares at Hereafter*), so I'm hoping that one is good! Great haul, Christina!
ReplyDeleteAwww, good luck with your review request! Your blog is young, but you have so many GR followers. They should totally factor that in. Maybe it's good that I got it then, because I may have been judging her unfairly off her debut. She could easily have grown as a writer since her first book. I mean, compare Harry Potter 1 and HP 4, and you have a whole different thing.
DeleteI love books about the afterlife too. UGH THAT BOOK. Hereafter can suck it.
Ahhh Touching The Surface! Hope you love that one, I've met Kimberly several times and she's super nice.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading :-)
She seems like such a sweetie on Twitter.
DeleteFine. I'll give you comment love =).
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing Paper Valentine a month or two ago on a bunch of people's Waiting for Wednesday, and I thought the cover was lovely. (I am too shallow for my own good) Though I still have no idea what the story is supposed to be about. If it's anything to do with a lovey dovey romance, I'm out.
Ah, I read R.O.D. a looonnngg time ago (when I was in middle school?). I think I stopped at volume two and went back to reading Prince of Tennis.
Amazon is sneaky...
WHY DOES MY LIBRARY STILL NOT HAVE A COPY OF The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls? *flips table*
I am still waiting for that birthday Goodwill book haul...*twiddles thumbs* any day now...
YAY! It has been so long since I have seen your face! (aka emoticon)
DeleteI'm not sure what the story is about either. I think I read the blurb when it got here, but it totally disappeared from my brain. Hmmm. Dead best friend, heat wave and ghosts. Could be cool.
Oh man, I totally read Prince of Tennis. It took forever!
So sneaky.
Silly Hawaii! Buy the good things, not just Obama bios!
Oh yeah, I need to go get those....
I know, my O_O profile icon face is totally adorable.
Delete*reads Paper Valentine's blurb*
"... the birds are dying..." AHHHHHH!! I would not want to be in that world. *imagines birds falling from the sky* dead birds galore. *shudders*
OOOO! There's a character named Lillian! SHE BETTER NOT DIE! *O*...*keeps reading* oh fudge, she's dead.
Prince of Tennis did go on FOREVER, nobody ever graduated or something. Or the kept flunking to play tennis.
I just found out that Hawaii has the lowest voter turnout. *feels guilty* Those Obama bio's don't seem to be working. Admittedly I own two Obama biographies myself...still unread.
I really don't know how the library decides what to buy. They finally have a copy of Robison Well's Feedback...but then I already read it. LIBRARY, Y U NO ADD STUFF FASTER?
Your icon looks so confused.
DeleteOh man, this would be the worst for you. That also happened in Age of Miracles. Watch for bird in the future.
Why do you need more than one biography?
I saw that it disappointed you. That's sad!
"Your icon looks so confused." Which is basically how I feel inside most of the time despite my confident demeanor.
Delete*imagines dead birds piled on sidewalks* *shudders* I would not be able to leave the house. I think I saw something like that on the news. In Arkansas I believe because of fireworks or lightning. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I don't NEED them. I just won them during my "whatever, let's enter ALL THE GIVEAWAYS" period.
Why is the salad I'm eating slightly bitter?
It is sad. And made me realize that not all pageturners are "good books." AND THAT ENDING? ARGH. HOW IS THAT A ENDING? DID MY EBOOK MISS A FEW PAGES?
Life is confusing, so I don't blame you. This is why I like reading. I usually know where I stand with a book.
DeleteEeeeesh! I wouldn't leave the house either. You'd be like stepping on them or driving over and I just. I CAN'T. http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgt625BSpr1qeolcio1_500.gif
I couldn't tell you. Maybe it's bitter because I am not in Hawaii? Oh wait, nope, that's me that's bitter.
Hmmm, it is true that not all pageturners are good. A lot of people don't get that, which pretty much explains the popularity of 90% of the bad books. Ex. Cassie Clare, Divergent, etc.
Oh Paper Valentine! I got rejected for that one yesterday (on Edelweiss, not NG!). You'll have to tell me if it's worthwhile pre-ordering.
ReplyDeleteWolf Hall scares the bejeebies outta me!
Enjoy!
Weird. I thought Edelweiss loved you!
DeleteHave you read it? Or just the cover?
You won a book of The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls and I BOUGHT a copy. Help me!!
ReplyDeleteI entered like every single giveaway for that one every day. I wanted it so hard, and I just can't let myself go crazy buying books, so otherwise I had to wait and get it from the library, and maybe buy later if I loved it. This is how things go.
DeleteOOOOH Those Dualed book marks are AWESOME! Yay for Paper Valentine! I can't wait to read it. I haven't read anything of hers yet so it will be my first. Touching the Surface looks really good, can't wait to see what you think of that one. Cavendish looks really good too! I hope you enjoy all the new goodies! ewww.. cockroaches.
ReplyDeleteLol, I love how excited you are about the bookmarks. :)
DeleteCockroaches are so nasty, but I hope to love all of these things.
