While I wasn't wholly in love with Cross My Heart, I definitely enjoyed all of the drama and the Venetian setting. Plus, it was jam-packed historical drama, which I love. Even better, it was all set around a (fictional) secret society of ladies that were totally pulling the strings, which was so cool; women can be evil rulers too, I say! Anyway, the blurb is somewhat promising. The love interest from book one will apparently be implicated in a scandal, so there will hopefully not be cheesy romance. I hope this is the case!

I think Cross my Heart was a book I got on NG, but never had the chance to read. The ladies pulling the string thing though sounds very intriguing!

DeleteHmm--for some reason I'm automatically resistant to historical dramas set in Italy, especially YA. Maybe because it's so different from American culture and there would have to be a lot of detail to convince me? Combined with all the usual book concerns?
