Waiting on Wednesday (38): Racing Savannah

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

I may not have read the third book in the series, Things I Can't Forget yet, but I will very soon, and I plan to love it every bit as much as Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker. Plus, I am extra excited because this installment is about HORSES. My inner child demands this book IMMEDIATELY. Secret: I used to want to be a jockey when I was a kid, though now I know it would be a horrible idea, not just because I've been too tall since fifth grade.

Racing Savannah
Hundred Oaks, Book 4

Author: Miranda Kenneally
Expected Publication Date: December 1, 2013
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Author of CATCHING JORDAN, Miranda Kenneally’s RACING SAVANNAH, about an underprivileged girl training to be a jockey while working in the barn at a high-stakes horse farm whose on-again, off-again relationship with the owner’s son has an upstairs/downstairs effect on race day, pitched as Downton Abbey in the South, to Leah Hultenschmidt at Sourcebooks Fire, in a good deal, in a three-book deal, for publication in 2013, by Sara Megibow at Nelson Literary Agency

Love the Downton Abbey reference as well as the setting around horses-although I wasn't into them, I knew a lot of people were and I think this will be very appealing.

Ha, a lot of people were. I was a stereotype and I don't even care.

I still have to read Catching Jordan! I own it though, so I will get to it soon! But, this one seems even more appealing to me! It reminds me of a terrible show I used to be addicted to on ABC family...Don't judge.

Like I can even judge your television-watching. Remember how I'm the only other one of the traveling librarians who watches all the shitty teen shows?

You must read Kenneally's books. You will love them for sure.

Miranda Kenneally writes so fast that I can't even catch up. *sulk sulk sulk*

"I used to want to be a jockey when I was a kid"
...seriously?!? That's almost as cool as me wanting to be a pedophile hunter.

You totally can catch up. Her books read really quickly.

Yeah, I know that NOW. I was just a little kid obsessed with The Black Stallion, okay?

I somehow just knew this would show up in a WoW of yours. I haven't read any Kennealy. I feel like I won't like her books much :(

I just saw this on another blog without a description. I guessed it may be about racing horses, so I was right! Looks good!

Yup! I'm not surprised you saw it elsewhere. I try to choose sneaky books, but I'm really excited about this one, so who cares!

Great pick. I still need to read Stealing Parker. I enjoyed Catching Jordan for the most part.

Man, I really need to read this series. People seem to rave about these books, but I just haven't gotten around to reading Catching Jordan. Is it the kind of series you can read out of order?

You can read them out of order for sure, but you'll miss some of the cute references, since the couples from earlier books make cameos.
