  1. AHH! The Murmurings, I freaking love the cover of that one and it sounds so good! How My Summer Went Up In Flames looks like one I would enjoy, I'll have to keep my eye out for that one. We both bought Level 2! I am so nervous about that one, which is probably a good thing because then maybe it will blow me away. But now I am thinking that maybe it will blow me away so it won't. Damnit.

    1. Ha, I know nothing about the plot - big shocker! I never know what my books are about. Also, I really hope How My Summer Went Up in Flames is awesome as I'm hoping. I should probably start telling myself it's going to suck immediately or I'll not like it just because of expectations. lol.

Oooh, well, then, if it helps, you're going to hate it. :-p

  2. The murmurings & Level 2, what an awesome haul! I hope you enjoy all the pretties you got :D

  3. The Murmurings looks so good. I got approved for that one too even though I forgot I even requested it. I guess that's what happens when pubs approved you months after you've requested and moved on with your life. Also, I propose a read-a-long for Siege and Storm!

    1. Oooh, I hope it's good since we've both got it. :)

      All over that readalong!

  4. I was approved for The Murmurings also! Woohoo! Sounds great. :D I also got How My Summer Went Up In Flames, but that was a couple weeks back and I forgot to put it in a haul post at that time. *shrugs* Lol.
Congrats on Seige & Storm. I still haven't read Shadow & Bone and it makes me feel like the outcast. It's one of my top wishlisted books-it's just never available at the bookstore when I go to buy it. Lol. It's just going to boil down to a point where I'm going to have to order it instead so that I can finally have that book. :P

    Great haul this week!

    1. Ha, I always forget to put digital stuff in the haul, so I totally get if people forget some things. It's hard to remember!

Oooh, you would love Shadow & Bone, I'm pretty certain.

  5. I love your blog and I understand the cat liking the boxes because I have three cats and every time a box is brought into the house they want to keep it.

    1. I know. I need to just tell him to deal with a lack of boxes, because my house perpetually looks like I just moved in. :-p It's so hard to say no to his cute face.

  6. Oh my god, The Murmurings. I am so jealous. I haven't read Shadow and Bone. I couldn't finish it, actually. But yay you got Siege and Storm! I hope it lives up to the first book, since everyone loved it so much.

    Also, Percy <3

    1. Ha, we disagree a lot these days. I also just finished Quicksilver, which you couldn't get through. I hope so too, though I've heard it's slow in the middle.

  7. LOL the whole time, lol, my face was practically pressed to the screen as I was trying to figure what books are on your shelves.

Super jelly of Then You Were Gone, glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Oh man, so jealous of How My Summer Went Up In Flames.
I have the Murmurings to read. Eventually.

    YAY MIDDLE GRADE.

    1. Ha, then I guess moving my videos into the library was a success. Witness my WALL O'BOOKS. Well, one of them. That wall has three bookshelves, which is pretty awesome.

Yes, I did enjoy, and you'd probably like more. Maybe?

That book. When I pulled it out of the package, I for reals squealed out loud.

      MG ftw!

  8. Nice...and I think it's awesome you called Harper out on their tardiness;)

looking forward to Seige and Storm , The Murmuring (the title itself creeps me out) and How My Summer Went Up in Flames!

And YAY! for kitty video love:)

    1. Ugh, I wish I didn't have to. There's not been a problem with TLC or Harper on any other tour, so I'm sure lines just got crossed, but it still makes me feel so guilty that I didn't get the post done, even though the book should have been here weeks before, not days. II know it's not my fault though, so I'm trying to squash that feeling.

  9. Eek, The Murmurings! You will have to tell me what you think of that! It actually sounds like it would scar me for life, so, naturally, I want it. Also, yay - Siege and Storm! After Giselle's three star review, I'll go in that one with some moderate expectations (three is good, but that book is huge, so it's quite a bit investment for three stars), and hopefully I'll end up having a better experience. And I got Level 2 this week, too, thanks primarily to your review! Can't wait to start it. I'm mostly in it to see what this huge twist at the end is.

    I need to know, Christina.

    I need to know.

    1. If it terrifies me and I don't want to keep it and you don't have a copy yet, I will send it your way. That is many ifs. Still!

Yeah, Giselle's and Christina's have me a bit less amped, but I am sure I will still like it a lot, even if it's not as OMG as Shadow and Bone.

Eek! I hope you like it.

  10. I never requested The Murmurings. I really wanted to, but I wasn't sure I would be able to get to it in time. I hope it's good! I hope Siege and Storm is good too.

    Your cat is adorable.

I don't blame you for getting pissed off at Harper. That shit is ridiculous and not fair. I love how irritated you were though because that is me when it happens. GRRRRR.

Also, I am LOLing at April's comment. The only books I can make out for sure are Inkheart and Inkspell.

    Blythe's comment. Bahahahaha!

    1. Oh lord, Kara, if you saw my pile, you would cry from the stress. I'm so bad about requesting things, which is why NG had to go. Print ARCs taunt me into getting shit done.

      Yes he is!

They sent me a bonus copy of book two, so...yay? But still I don't know when those reviews will be happening. Probably March. Waiting for TLC to get back to me so a reschedule can happen.

Ha, maybe I should sit closer next time. :-p

  11. I was thinking where was Percy?! And there he was almost straight away - his weekly moment of fame ;) I actually really like the cover of Impulse (no idea what it's about) and looking forward to your review of the girl who burnt her boyfriend's car. Enjoy your fab reads! ;)

    1. Ha, yes, he's been very good about showing up recently. Pretty much anytime I laugh for seemingly no reason he's doing something ridiculous off camera.

  12. Ohhhhh The Murmurings, it sounds so awesome, and I love the creepiness of the cover! And it's a fun word to say over and over.....

    Enjoy!

  13. Hi Christina,

I'm the author of the middle-grade novel, 'The Ability' and a friend just sent me a link to this post. Just wanted to say a big thank you for including it on here - it's wonderful to see my book on video from across the Atlantic! (I live in London). Now I just have to hope you enjoy it!

    Thanks again,

    1. Oh, hi!

No problem. I'm very excited to have The Ability in my pile. I love to break up my regularly scheduled programming with middle grade. I've been having great luck with MG stories, and I hope The Ability is another awesome one for me.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    2. I hope so too!
Had a look around your site after I commented and found some really interesting looking reads that you've reviewed - will have to stock up my books-to-read pile!
btw, a bit random, but I have an extra week in the middle of the book tour that Simon & Schuster are organizing for me so I decided to visit Atlanta (first week of May). I've never been but I've been told it has a fantastic book community. Do you have any recommendations as to where would be good to contact in terms of promoting a middle-grade book? There's nothing like recommendations from someone who lives in the area!

    3. I'm glad you found some new reads to check out. :)

Actually, I DO have a recommendation for you. The Little Shop of Stories in Decatur is a fabulous book store with a focus on children's and teen books. They do a bunch of events, and I believe author Terra Elan McVoy works there.

There's also a Barnes & Noble in Alpharetta that gets a lot of the big signings that come through. I haven't been to any other ones, but you could always contact the library systems (Fulton, Gwinnett, Dekalb).

    4. That's GREAT! I had heard of The Little Shop of Stories - seeing their website was what convinced me it was a good idea to take a detour to Atlanta! I had no idea about the names of the library systems and will get in contact with Barnes and Noble too.

      Thank you so much!

    5. Best of luck! Are you heading over here for BEA?

      Delete
  14. Thank you! Not BEA - going to IRA (International Reading Association) in Texas then spending a week there, then Atlanta and Nashville and after that NYC. Very exciting - the fingernail biting has already started!

    1. Ah, well, if I'm in town when you come to Atlanta, I'll try to stop by your event!
