  1. You have a good friend to get you all those amazing books from ALA. Kind of jealous about the Dangerous book, but eventually it will be available on Net Galley one hopes. Come visit me as well.

    1. Yes, my friend is the bestest. I love her face. Bloomsbury usually does put their books up on NetGalley, so I suspect you're right.

    1. Me too. I'm curious to see if the author can pull of Brotherhood, because sensitive subject to the max.

  4. The Waking Dark sounds marvelous, I hope it's as creepy as it seems! Gosh I have never read anything by Shannon Hale but I've heard much raving about her... Dangerous sounds good though! Anton and Cecil are awesome cats names. lol Happy Reading!

  5. The Princesses Behaving Badly books seems like a lot of fun and really interesting. I'm kind of jealous you have Dangerous, but I hope you enjoy it (and I'm seconding the comment that said they hope it'll be put on NetGalley soon). Happy reading! :D

  6. I was about to get sad because I'm visiting my grandparents (I am in your state!) and couldn't play the video to hear my sexy cameo, but then I remembered I have headphones. Itty-bitty crisis averted!

But first and foremost, PERCYYYYYYYYY! Awwwww, kitty torture.

Princesses Behaving Badly sounds like a lot of fun. I don't know why I haven't put it on my TBR pile or tried to get a copy already! Gah, I'm so silly.

Definitely looking forward to All the Truth That's In Me! As long as it's better than The Amaranth Enchantment (it came off to be as an MG book when I read it way back when, but it's apparently YA?) in any way, I'll be happy. You're so kind. <3

Where the Stars Still Shine! Eeee! (Also, we react the same way to getting books the publisher didn't want us to get. I actually did a little dance when I got a print ARC of Everneath after being denied for it over a dozen times on NetGalley.) I really, really want to get to my copy of it soon, but that will probably get read late this month or early in August.

    1. Sexy cameo. Bahahahaha.

Kitty torture is fun for everyone.

Quirk Books is really nice! I hope it's awesome.

No idea about that, but you can always DNF or go all ranty.

Hahaha, a dozen times? That is commitment. Also, it always feels like a victory, and I may or may not do a little dance.

  9. Robin Wasserman is on my shelf because of you, Christina, and I really hope to read The Book of Blood and Shadow soon. Percy is a star as usual (just look at that grumpy face! :) Hugely entertaining! Enjoy all and have a lovely weekend :)

    1. I hope you like it! Seems like people who read Dan Brown liked it less, because it's similar, but I don't read him. Haha. Percy excels at grumpy faces.

  10. You've inspired me to start torturing Wocket to be on camera.

So I was dutifully paying attention to everything but then SHANNON HALE came up and I got too excited. Love her, need to read so many more of her books. That IS a random combination of blurbs, but I'm confident it'll be great. Also that Princesses Behaving Badly sounds potentially awesome. That's the kind of non-fic I really enjoy.

    Happy reading, Christina!

    1. Yay! I inspire cat torture. I mean...ummm, no. But yay to cats on camera, even against their will.

Shannon Hale is the most exciting. I was thrilled when you enjoyed the one you read, and you should read mooooreeeeee.

Agreed on Princesses. Fun trivia and ladies being awesome. I approve.

  12. I am freakin pumped for the Waking Dark, that one is on netgalley and so I am like hovering my finger over downloading it. BUT THEN I am like ugh I am so far behind with my reading.

    Also.

I got Brotherhood and the TA Barron book too and QB1.

Also, yayyyy for Where the Stars Still Shine! I love Trish Doller!

  13. Ohh fabulous haul!! I really want to read The Waking Dark! It sounds so good!! Sorry it took so long to comment. Between the sad personal things I had going on and then my computer breaking and having to get a new one, I haven't been around the past few days.

    1. Me too! I have no idea what's going on in that book but I must know.

Also, so sad to hear about your cat and your computer and everything. :(

  14. I love Percy's long-suffering expression. "Ugh. THIS again."

OMG Princesses Behaving Badly is EXACTLY the kind of non-fiction I love! Royals and bad things!

    DANGEROUS! *grabby hands* *dies*

That's okay. All I did on the Fourth of July was watch you and Lili read royal and then eat lots of things I shouldn't have.

    1. Hahaha, that's my baby boy! Long suffering. Poor dear.

Dangerous doesn't come out until next April, which means I can't read it for forever, which is the worst.

We were entertaining, were we not?

  15. You should have been there for Abby's dramatic rendition reading of the back of Anton and Cecil: Cats at Sea. We were all dying!

  16. The Princesses book sounds awesome-I love getting to look at real-life stories which are probably going to be even stranger and crazier than fiction.

  17. Ooooh I'm curious about that Atlantis Rising book now after hearing you talk about it and Merlin. I'll be looking out for your review :D That Cats at Sea book looks AND sounds brilliant, I must get a copy for myself too so yeah, thanks for featuring both of those and bringing them to my attention! That Princess book sounds like it could be fun hehe. I don't read much non-fiction either but if it's also written in a entertaining way...it might be a winner!

*attempts to pet Percy through the monitor* He had on his best 'I am not amused' expression bahaha, reminds me of my guy Nox every.single.time. I take out the camera. Le sigh.
