I thin...You're not the only one who loved that. I think it's intriguing and I WOULD like to know what gaslamp fantasy is. Anthologies aren't my favorite things, so I don't know if I'll read it or not.

Bot Wars TOTALLY looks 39 Clues. I see it. It's the shade of blue, I think.

I love the pastel. Lol.

I don't think Pivot Point is contemporary. It's compared to Sliding Doors, so it's probably a two different possible time lines kind of thing. I would be more help if I actually remembered the movie Sliding Doors.

BAHAHAH. I love the 'I hoard books like a dragon hoards treasure' part. Obviously, I do too. I love it. Anyone who doesn't promptly analyze the books on a book shelf when they walk into a room is not a kindred spirit of mine.

I do not like the Shatter Me covers. They don't make sense!

Hahahaha, I love this immense paragraph. I should point out that Shadow Society is not adult fiction. Just fyi. She does kind of look like she might be walking like an Egyptian. Though I haven't really seen the dance...

When you have not one but two hot guys, you should always look hot. These covers just don't work.

I so had not noticed the photoshopped necklace. Ugh! It's awful and it really doesn't look period, does it?Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00370486039531015541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555254327067745492.post-50742758873289057532012-07-21T16:31:28.320-04:002012-07-21T16:31:28.320-04:00I really like the cover for Queen Victoria’s Book ...I really like the cover for Queen Victoria’s Book of Spell. I’ve only read one of the authors in the collaboration, and steampunk is still new territory for me. However, this is a perfect example of how a book can draw in a reader (in my case anyway). I really like the white hair and the books that could almost be griffins. I’m definitely intrigued.

Bot Wars is cool, but I don’t think it would really stand out in a bookstore. I have no idea why, but it makes me think of the first The 39 Clues book, which has absolutely nothing in common with this, I’m sure.

Cynthia Hand’s books are pretty, but I think I will have to read them on the Kindle or Nook when the time comes. It’s just… Pastel… *shudders* The soft colors make my eyes hurt. :-(

I wouldn’t read Pivot Point based on the cover alone. It looks too “real”, which translates to “contemporary” for me, which also means “run away run away”.

Paper Valentine Excuse my language, but I f*cking LOVE this cover! I would face this out at the library or bookstore every time I walked past it. I hoard books like a dragon hoards treasure, and this one would definitely be on the top of my embarrassingly large piles so everyone could see it.

The Shatter Me series' eyeballs give me the heebie-jeebies. Let’s say I was reading one of the books, and it’s sitting on my coffee table. I would sit, staring at it, waiting for the eyeball to move around like the spellbook in the movie Hocus Pocus.

Echo is pretty, but meh. Ravage’s cover doesn’t interest me. The Art of Wishing just doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe it requires shrooms like the Shatter Me covers. The Shadow Society cover is awesome, but I probably wouldn’t read it because it looks like adult fiction (which makes me think and is avoided at all costs). I want the girl in Sever to have crazy hair like me again. I found Rise’s cover to be boring until you brought up the point of the flaming phallus (which should be avoided at all costs, imho), and now it is frightening and hilarious. And is it just me, or does the model in Deep Betrayal look like she’s doing that “Walk Like an Egyptian” dance?

The girl model on The Indigo Spell has lips just like one of my best friends in high school. When she made that expression with her mouth, you avoided her. I hate that she looks so pissy with two hot guys right there. But I suppose she is kind of squished… Also, I don’t love the flowers around the title font. One of the blossoms looks like it’s trying to suck Mr. Sunken Cheek’s face.

I think I love Austensibly Ordinary a lot, except for the photoshopped necklace. Lace + Book + Freckles = Win!

Ha! I overloaded you with my opinion! ;-)Kayla Beckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02063162666132410730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555254327067745492.post-57389448445274177912012-07-01T15:30:18.737-04:002012-07-01T15:30:18.737-04:00Glad to have made the list! ;)Glad to have made the list! ;)alyssa goodnighthttp://alyssagoodnight.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555254327067745492.post-83309212190786328442012-06-28T23:31:29.487-04:002012-06-28T23:31:29.487-04:00Yeah, I will read it. Digital covers definitely fail at capturing the true beauty a lot of the time, since texture can do so much.

You cannot sell me on the cover for Sever. You just can't. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end with hating the series too. A lot of money and thought was put into those covers to make them look THAT BAD. The first cover got it just right, and they've been drifting further and further from that concept. Also, that color? Really?

Yeah, the Rise cover is awful imo.

The Queen Victoria's cover is pretty cool, although the white hair is a bit shocking the way it leaps off the page.

I like the model on Austensibly Ordinary too. On the computer and well I guess digitally, they look awful. But the book itself, is gorgeous. You can't see how it all twirls/connects to the back. And it's so pretty on my shelf (like the spine part is gorgeous too). And the girl, Sydney, is a weird character who would make weird faces, but we love her any way.

I also like the Wither covers. I wish the model was the same though...Those are also books that are pretty in person, but not as much in a photo. Like the inside book (inside of the cover) is pretty. And these books, along with the Mead ones are shiny and you can't see that online either.Norihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07991072472141788180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555254327067745492.post-46884145340042172702012-06-28T10:43:07.827-04:002012-06-28T10:43:07.827-04:00I like:
