200 Follower Giveaway - Realistic Fiction

You may be wondering about these pictures I put at the top of my follower giveaway posts. They're of my cat Percy (short for Perseus). Occasionally, I write of the adventures of his life in posts all about him (The Perseus Chronicles), but not often enough. Thus his demand that I share his cuteness this way.

Wow, my 100 followers giveaway is not yet over, but it's already time for the 200 follower appreciation giveaway. The theme for this go round is realistic fiction. If they're old enough to be considered classics, they'll be in another giveaway someday. They're all awesome. If I've reviewed the book on the blog, you'll be able to link to the review by clicking on the cover. If not, it will take you to Goodreads where you can make your own assessments.

The books are organized...sort of. Anyway, you can choose any one of the ones pictured below, or, if you so choose, another book by one of these authors. That should be plenty of options.

Rules: Same as usual. The giveaway is international so long as The Book Depository ships to you.
  1. Fill out the rafflecopter (note: logging in will automatically use the email you used to sign in, so you don't need to post it in the comments, unless you want or know of an issue with the other).
  2. You do have to follow my blog, because this is for the followers.
  3. Check out my other open giveaways. Okay, this isn't so much a rule as a suggestion...what do you have to lose? More importantly, what could you win? Well, one of ten amazing YA debuts, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr (gotta move fast on this one!) or Escape from Camp 14 by Blaine Harden.

I would probably choose The Duff, because I have heard great things about it. If you like realistic fiction (and since John Green's Abundance of Katherines is on you list) I would recommend ANYTHING by Melina Marchetta and Cath Crwoley:) Pretty much all Aussie YA authors are amazing!

Well, a few of these have forever been there on my wishlist and those are Fight Club, Wonder, Abundance of Katherines and Will Grayson Will Grayson...so I'll probably choose from those!

Have you read any Jodi Picoult books? Two of my favourite from hers are Keeping Faith and My Sister's Keeper. The latter was very, very good. You should also try The Secrets Of Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Micheal Scott. Simply. AMAZING. So fast paced and adventurous that it proved to be a very quick read. I couldn't put it down. The first part is The Alchemyst.

Also, I had a question, you've not mentioned if the giveaway is international or not...so, is it? Well, I've entered anyway and if it's not, so ignore my entries!

Thanks for the giveaway!

1) What book(s) do you think you'd want to win?
Wonder has been on my wishlist for awhile
along with Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club (I literally squealed when I saw it)
ah, and also Extremely Loud and Incredibly Clear!
2) What are some of your favorites that I might not have read yet?
Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor, I reckon it's not as great as Fight Club (but then, I haven't read Fight Club..yet) but it showcases Palahniuk's wit for writing satire.
and Brian Christian's The Most Human Human, it's non-fiction, but an addicting read nonetheless.

I would pick Wonder and either Will Grayson, or An Abundance. I've already read AAoK but I do not own it. So it's be a choice of "do I want to own a book I loved, or own a new book in which I might love?" while I definitely know I would be picking Wonder.

Some of my favourites recently have been (all YA): Graceling, Wings, Legend, and Birthmarked.

Thanks so much for the giveaway!

You really can't go wrong with any of those books, imo. Anyway, I always wonder that too - new and shiny or tried and true...such a tough call.

Go read Fire and Prized right now! Sooooo good. Haven't read Legend or Wings yet.

This is hard! haha. I'd probably choose Becoming George Sand or Wonder, as I've read/borrowed most of the others. I think I actually have your copies of Almost Perfect and From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant at the moment because you are made of greatness!

Books you haven't read? Oh, sweet Jesus, let me think about this. haha. Have you read The Count of Monte Cristo? I feel like we've discussed it before, but if you haven't, it is amazeballs and you should. Oh, I think I actually thought of one! Dash and Lily's Book of Dares is super cute. I also really liked Elegance of the Hedgehog. One of the MCs is a child (albeit a very mature child), though, so I'm not sure how much you'd like it.

March 30, 2012 at 2:09 PM
Blogger Christina said...

I'm torn between saying you really should get Becoming George Sand because I think you would really love it and saying you should get Wonder, because I don't own that one. Not that you wouldn't love it too, haha.

I have read The Count of Monte Cristo, and second your opinion that it is amazeballs. The other two are on my tbr list, as per your and other people's recs. Yay! I think I own Elegance of the Hedgehog actually. Thanks, Goodwill!

Look at you, remembering to enter giveaways all on your own!

I've read so many of those already. :) so I have no idea. Maybe I want one i've read and don't own, maybe I want one i've never read. And I would like to strongly protest the fact that there are multiple John Green books but not David Levithan! I love love love his books. The Realm of Possibility is one of my favorites. (And btw, my copy of Will Grayson Will Grayson is signed. Yay.) :)

My copy's actually signed too, although only by David Levithan. My friend was nice enough to take it to ALA with her and surprise me with it. :)

The reason David Levithan isn't more represented is because Will Grayson, Will Grayson is the only one of his books I've read so far. I do own a copy of Boy Meets Boy and have several on my list of things I want to read. So maybe another giveaway!
