Waiting on Wednesday (9)

Okay, so I've picked another book that doesn't have cover art yet, but at least there's this decent-looking placeholder cover. Thanks Goodreads! Anyway, this book sounds AWESOME. It's a dystopia set in space! Space, I say! Plus, I tend to like when books are written by an author duo, so long as they're pretty equal. I'm not as big a fan when James Patterson teams up with an unknown (when I basically assume the unknown did all the writing and Patterson gets most of the money and the credit). My only concern is that the book might be too focused on romance, but I won't know until I read it, which I'm just waiting to do. :)

These Broken Stars

Author:
Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
Expected Publication Date: 2013
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen never should have met. She’s the socialite daughter of the richest man in the galaxy, and he’s a decorated soldier fighting back rebellions on newly terraformed planets. But when the vast luxury spaceliner they’re both traveling on crashes, they find themselves thrown together as the two sole survivors on an alien planet.

As they survive harsh conditions and dwindling supplies—not to mention each other—the two begin to uncover a mystery surrounding the abandoned planet that neither of them could have guessed.

The first in a trilogy, THESE BROKEN STARS sets into motion a series of timeless, standalone love stories that span galaxies—and are linked by their shared worlds and one mysterious enemy.

I'm so excited to read this one too -- it sounds like such a gorgeous book! And even though there's no official cover for it yet, if it's anything like this pretty space-holder, I'm pretty sure that it's going to be stunning!

Awesome pick for your WOW this week, Christina! Hopefully this one doesn't focus to much on romance like you want it to :) I'd want to know more about the galaxy too!

I'm so excited about this book, too! I am really enjoying Skylark by Meagan Spooner, so some sci-fi will probably be nice. :-)

This one is new to me as well! It sounds good, though! But yeah, I hope it's not focused on romance only. :)

Agreed. I love romance, I really do, but it shouldn't be the only thing going on! With the good things I'm hearing about Skylark, I'm not too worried.
