Description from Goodreads:
Poor T-Rex. It’s hard to be the Lizard King when you can’t even change a light bulb.
Drawn from Hugh Murphy’s wildly popular Tumblr feed of the same name, T-Rex Trying depicts the stubby-armed tyrant in a range of hilarious—yet pathos-inducing—activities that we humans take for granted. Murphy’s 100 drawings include:
T-Rex Trying to Paint His House
T-Rex Trying to Use a Drive-Through ATM
T-Rex Trying to Apply Sunscreen
T-Rex Trying to Break Into a Vending Machine
T-Rex Trying to Ask for a New Roll of Toilet Paper from the Next Stall
Looks like the ancient beast isn’t so tough after all.
First Sentence: "T-Rex trying to paint his house."
Review:
T-Rex Trying is pretty much exactly what it sounds and looks like. It's a T-Rex trying to do various mundane tasks that humans can accomplish with ease. For the most part, he finds them quite difficult for four reasons: his massive size, his taste for creatures, his intimidating appearance, or his tiny little arms. Basically, if you are endlessly amused by the following gif, you will snort with laughter at T-Rex Trying:
T-Rex Trying is good for a laugh, for children and adults alike.
Rating: 4/5
I had nightmares about T-rex as a kid. Maybe seeing T-rex do various mundane things will help with that :P (they are pretty cute; I especially like how T-rex is painting itself). Maybe I'll be able to watch Jurassic Park again...
ReplyDeleteHa, I saw Jurassic Park too young and had so many t-rex nightmares. I still really loved dinosaurs, though. The t-rex in here is pretty approachable. Poor guy just wants to do things!
DeleteI think I was WAYYY too amused by this...but then again, I'm sick and delusional.
ReplyDeleteIs it weird I want to go to the store and buy this like RIGHT NOW? And totally scream at the people who give me weird looks for cracking up at all the pictures.
I feel so bad for the poor T-rex though. It's not their fault their arms are non-proportionally sized to the rest of their bodies.
Great review!
Ha! I think most of the people I know would be entertained by this. I mean, it's a T-rex trying to do things. What's wrong with that? Plus, it's super short, so you feel like you're winning.
DeleteWell, he is kind of evil in a few of them, so he does deserve some of his reputation. His tiny arms keep him humble.
LMAO. That gif cracks me up EVERY time! This book sounds really cute. Jenni should totally get this for Gaige!
ReplyDeleteKatie @ BlookGirl
Ha! It's one of the best gifs and it's the funniest moment in the movie. :)
DeleteHeeeeeeeee. Where is this book? I MUST HAVE THIS BOOK. The Tyrannosaur looks so disgruntled in some of the drawings, I love it! So cute.
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
He does look disgruntled and it's the best. Like, WHY WON'T THIS WORK? And sometimes he looks embarrassed, like about his house.
DeleteThis is so adorable I can't even-
ReplyDeleteYou didn't show the sheep eating pics. :P
Nope, but they exist! He also eats a horse, which you can see here: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lyn5uwe57o1ro09hco1_500.png
DeleteAww, the unicycle!.. :))) He looks like he can hardly believe his fortune!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable.
DeleteThat gif gets me every time I see it!
ReplyDeleteThis is so out of the ordinary and entirely not what I expected coming over here today. But I love it! I really want my own copy.
Right?
DeleteI like to mix it up!
OMG YES! You are review the T-Rex Book! OMG this just made my morning. Ok scrolling up to read now.
ReplyDeleteOMG That part of... mmm was it Meet The Robinson's? Is hilarious!
OMG I love that he could only paint the one line on his house, awwww I am sad for T-Rex!
Love the unicycle! Hhaha Thanks for reviewing this it's so cute.
OMG look at all those OMG's up there. Who is this idiot?
Bahahaha OMG I love this comment!
DeleteIt is Meet the Robinsons.
I am also sad for T-Rex.
Hilarious! I love that this book exists. Plus, the pictures are so good! I could see this not working if the pictures were bad. What a wonderful unsolicited present! Has Heather seen it?
ReplyDeleteHeather does know because she saw it in my book haul. I might send it her way.
DeleteBahahahah on the unicycle.
ReplyDeletePretty much I need to own T-Rex trying, because hello T-Rexes are AWESOME. Also, short and with drawings = instant appeal to me.
Right? It's pretty much the best.
