Cover Snark (59): Eversnark

Welcome to Cover Snark, where the people are snarky and the covers quiver in fear. Since I don't write many snarky book reviews here on A Reader of Fictions, Cover Snark is my outlet. If you click on the title of the book, where possible, I've linked to Goodreads. Clicking on the cover itself will show you the cover in a larger size, in most cases. Feel free to love covers I hate and vice versa. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

The poll site I use was not working for me, so no polls this week. However, there weren't many Cover Battles anyway.

Shiny and New:

1. Tainted (Broken #2) - A.E. Rought
Thoughts: That guy sort of looks like Arthur from Merlin. However, I really don't like when men are carrying passed out or drugged women on book covers, because I pretty much assume that's a sign the female character will be weak ALL the way through. I do not approve the gender dynamics shown here. Where's the cover of a girl carrying a passed out boy?

2. Starling (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #3) - Fiona Paul
Thoughts: Seriously, why the hell did they redesign these? These look like romance novels from the 1970s that should be sold for a dime at the used book store.

3. Warrior (The Dragon King Chronicles #2) - Ellen Oh
Thoughts: Try to look more like Cinda Williams Chima's books. Like this one and this one. You can't? I see your point.

4. Her Dark Curiosity (The Madman's Daughter #2) - Megan Shepherd
Thoughts: Why is this girl always taking her dress off? I mean, really. It made sense in the first one, where she looked sort of insane and might have been about to commit suicide. Plus, she was on that island with less people around. Such behavior is just not condoned for young ladies in cities, and I really don't think off the shoulder was the style at that time.

5. Very Bad Things (Briarcrest Academy #1) - Ilsa Madden-Mills
Thoughts: Is this cover telling me that beauty pageants are VERY BAD? I think so.

6. Being Kalli - Rebecca Berto
Thoughts: Being murdered by Kalli's death glare more like.

7. Of Darkness and Crowns (Goddess Wars #2) - Trisha Wolfe
Thoughts: You'd better watch out! A buck is about to leap out of your girlfriend's back!

8. Fury of Desire (Dragonfury #4) - Coreene Callahan
Thoughts: He and Ke$ha would make a great couple. So many glittery golden babies they would have.

9. Cured (Stung #2) by Bethany Wiggins
Thoughts: If THAT is the cure, I will keep the disease. No way I'm letting that bug ANYWHERE near me.

10. How Green This Land, How Blue This Sea (Newsflesh) - Mira Grant
Thoughts: I bet a zombieroo would kill all our asses. Even regular kangaroos are badass.

11. The Mysterious Case of Mr. Strangeway (The St. Croix Chronicles #0.5) - Karina Cooper
Thoughts: Is this about Michael Jackson? He would totally wear this.

12. The Psi Fighter - D.R. Rosensteel
Thoughts: RANDOM WORDS OF A TAGLINE. HAVE IMPORT. MEAN THINGS. CONFUSE THE READERS.

13. Archon (Psi Chronicles #2) - Lana Krumwiede
Thoughts: Tunnel. Gears. Yawn. It's been done, with bonus dirigible.

14. Celebromancy (Ree Reyes #2) - Michael R. Underwood
Thoughts: I do not like this cover at all. However, the blurbs have it.

15. Wake to Darkness (Rachel de Luca #2) - Maggie Shayne
Thoughts: Pretty. I like the snowy effect a lot, and the colors.

16. Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3) - Katie McGarry
Thoughts: Maybe it's because I'm old, but all I can think is how uncomfortable that looks. Young whippersnappers, may I recommend a marvelous invention known as a bed?

17. Tarnished - Amber Lynn Natusch
Thoughts: Well, I'm creeped out. Also, nicely done. I think at that point I might be less concerned with the blood than freezing my ass off.

18. Disassemble (Divided Worlds #2) - Imran Siddiq
Thoughts: The dude's hair looks exactly like how Shizuro Seino draws dude hair in her mangas. Also, this creeps me out a lot.

19. Disrupt (Divided Worlds #3) - Imran Siddiq
Thoughts: This is either a very narrow-wasted dude or a very broad-shouldered, muscular lady. Hmmm.

20. Shadow Hand (Tales of Goldstone Wood #6) - Anne Elisabeth Stengl
Thoughts: Coming next spring from Pixar!

21. Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices: Manga #2) - Cassandra Clare
Thoughts: To borrow some phrasing from Bon Jovi: You give manga a BAD name.

22. Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale (The Bane Chronicles #3) - Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan
Thoughts: Ah, apparently in this installment we are spared further evidence that Magnus is actually a black-fingered monster rather than the hottie I'd imagined. Of course, that does mean there's absolutely nothing happening here. Apparently they add up to make on big picture, which is admittedly cool, but the individual pieces are thus far not awe-inspiring. (Also, I initially typoed "thus fart" - *snorks*)

23. Evertrue (Everneath #3) - Brodi Ashton
Thoughts: She looks like a candy cane made of solidified blood and clouds. What happened to these covers?

24. The Well's End - Seth Fishman
Thoughts: *has flashbacks to reading Z for Zachariah*

25. A Little Too Far (A Little Too Far #1) - Lisa Desrochers
Thoughts: What goes a little too far? His boobs?

26. Perfect Regret (Bad Rep #2) - A. Meredith Walters
Thoughts: Can we stop with these titles NA, please? Let's combine a positively connoted word with a negatively connoted one. Then we can make all the money like Jamie Maguire. UGH.

27. The Tinker King (The Unnaturalists #2) - Tiffany Trent
Thoughts: I like how his face says "THE FUCK YOU SAY?!?" and how it looks like he's punching the title.

28. Wreckless - Bria Quinlan
Thoughts: Another girl in a weak position. However, I love that dress and the colors, so I will let it slide.

29. Without You - Reylynn Purdue
Thoughts: Fine, desperate cover, you may love me. However, the feeling will not be mutual.

30. White Space - Ilsa J. Bick
Thoughts: Hmmm, might have been more interesting if I hadn't just seen an awesome black feathers cover last week.

31. Five, Six, Seven, Nate! (Nate #2) - Tim Federle
Thoughts: Bahahaha. Nate would approve.

Cover Battles:

1. Rootless (Rootless #1) - Chris Howard
US vs. Mexican vs. Hungarian: Alright, Chris Howard obviously sacrificed something to the cover art gods, because these are all gorgeous and perfect for the book in different ways. I thought the US cover was cool, but the other two are insanely good. These aren't actually new, but I just found them and HAD to share. My Pick: Mexican by a nose.

2. The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2) - Rick Riordan
Original Paperback vs. Movie Tie-In: The movie tie-in isn't that bad as movie tie-ins go, but I prefer the simple, illustrated look of the original. My Pick: Original paperback.

3. Baby (Zom-B #5) - Darren Shan
UK vs. US: Fucking hell. If I hadn't already made the decision to never ever have children, this might have sealed the deal. If I lived in the UK, there is no way I could ever pick up this series because the covers are too bloody terrifying. I even wrote this snark with the covers scrolled up where I can't see them, because they upset me THAT much. The US one is almost as bad, which has pretty much convinced me to officially relegate this to the dropped series graveyard. So, they succeeded at making horror covers, but I just can't. My Pick: Hiding under the bed so they can't get me.

WTF of the Week:

Death Knows My Name - Casse NaRome
Thoughts: Death knows the name of Big McLarge-Huge, who will die of a steroid overdose.

Sadly, this is the second week in a row where no cover has really swept me off my feet, so there's no outstanding cover this week either. Either of Chris Howard's covers would have done it, but they weren't released this week.

4. I actually really like the cover for Her Dark Curiosity, but I do think the designers are trying too hard to be edgy and dark. And the title for this one sounds like it belongs in Ken Oppel's Frankenstein series (This Dark Endeavor, Such Wicked Intent.)

9. I think these are the only covers I've been truly creeped out by. These bugs need to GFTO.

10. Bahahahahaha that gif.

14. I'm cracking up at this one simply because one of the blurbs has the book's title spelled incorrectly.

16. God, I HATE this cover. HATE IT. I hate the fact that this guy has no shoes or socks on. It grosses me out SO MUCH.

18 & 19. NO STAHP.

23. Evertrue really disappointed me. I mean, I haven't read any of these books, but I was really saddened by the deal salmon color of the 2nd book, and it depresses me that they kept that color for the third. The dress is okay, I guess. Is that lace? It looks like snakeskin.

25. Too bad there are dozens and dozens of self-pubbed romances with this exact cover. *yawn*

27. I kind of love everything about this cover.

2. How do you not see Star Wars when you look at that movie tie-in?

3. That's the most horrifying thing ever. I'll stick with the muted purple cover, thank you very much.

2. I don't find the new covers appalling, but I think the original Venom was better. They screwed up with the first Belladonna though and I feel like that disappointment led to this change.

9. No. Just no.

10. Not into zombies, but definitely into that gif!

16. This looks comfortable for all of 5 seconds. Also, not how I pictured Isaiah at all.

18 & 19. Are these computer games or book covers?

23. Not nearly as pretty as the other two.

27. It's not really my kind of book but this cover is pretty badass.

CB 3. Gah! Seriously these covers freak me out.

2. Blegh. These cover changes. I really really like the original Venom cover, but this is... blegh.

3. That was the first thing I thought!

4. I love the London skyline, but the first was so much creepier. This is just... a girl in a dress.

6. This must be the most interesting title ever. *yawns*

12. Whoa. What is that tagline?! It even distracted me from all her hair.

16. Nope. That definitely does not look comfortable. I also think that Isaiah looks wayyyy too old, especially compared to Noah and Ryan on the previous covers. He could be their dad. Or at least their teacher. W/e

18. If you stare too long at their hands, you get confused. Or is it just me? *blinks*

19. Half man, half woman? Either way, this does not look normal.

21. EW.

22. HEY. Where are Magnus Bane's body parts? I thought this was one of those build-your-own-doll sets, where eventually, we'd have a complete Magnus. Hmpf.

27. His face is pretty hilarious.

28. I'm trying very hard not to find this pretty, but I kind of do. A little.

Cover battle 1. I might love the Hungarian even more than the Mexican, but both are insanely pretty.

Cover battle 2. Hang on while I laugh at Logan Lerman's hair - HAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHA. HAHAAA. Okay. Moving on.

Cover Battle 3. HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT?!?! Gollum gone (even more) insane? Ugh.

WTF: He's all, hey baby look at my arms, and she's all, is that all you got? Besides that: EW.

4. Yeah, the whole black bridal gown thing is a little bit wrong. Why can't covers be historically accurate, damnit!

9. At least that bug is in a jar. One of the cover of the first book was NOT.

10. Zombie kangaroos = we are all going to die.

16. I'm with you old, er, more mature friend - it may look cool but I'd rather be in a bed. In my jammies. With a cup of tea. Rock on.

17. A bare bum in the snow is never going to end well.

19. Or both?!

23. The more I look at it, the more I feel nauseated.

25. Moobs!

CB3. At least in the US version that face is covered up a bit. Even I'M creeped out by the UK cover. Totally taking that dust jacket OFF when I read it.

3. I thought this WAS a Chima book at first.

9. Oh my gosh, there's another one. RUN AWAAAAAY!!

12. I don't like that you can't tell whether it's D.R. or P.R.

15. But not the eye. Don't like the eye.

16. If I were her, I'd be worried about falling off. However, the car's cute.

17. Why is she naked? I don't get it. I'm way more concerned about the lack of clothes than the abundance of blood.

20. I love her dress. But what a lame, uncapitalized title.

CB1. Holy cow. The other two covers are WAY better. Love!

CB2. The original is WAY creepier. That eye!

Okay here we go!! 1:30pm

1.I think he's going to drop her in the puddle.

4. That's a whole lot of dress, maybe the back is snagged on something and is pulling it off of her. Besides that, it's a really pretty cover.

7. Don't worry, that's just Harry Potter's Patronus making an appearance.

8. Hahahaha!!!

9. The first cover creeped me out enough, this one is even more creepy.

10. Bad ass!! A zombieroo!!! Ummm total win!!

12. It must be hard to fight with all the hair flying around her face!

14. Why is there a kangaroo holding a tablet on the cover? Random.

16. That does look quite uncomfortable. And it's not like they are hiding doing it in the backseat. Everyone can see them.

17. That is totally creepy. My ass is getting frostbite just looking at that cover though.

20. Dude, she's going to snag her dress on the thorns or branches. Oh, wait! Is she a ghost, she looks a bit transparent. At least her dress does.

22. I can't wait to see what it looks like with all ten covers put together.

23. She looks like she has tentacles like an octopus. It's still pretty, just weird.

25. If the shot was any lower we would be getting a shot of her nips!

27. I really like that cover.

31. The title and the cover are just so cute!!

Cover Battles

1. Ohh I like the Hungarian one. That's fabulous!

2. I'm not really a fan of movie tie-ins with the exception of a few books.

3. OMG zombie babies creep me the fuck out!! I can handle zombies and scary shit, but kids and babies!! No way!! I will have nightmares now!

WTF of the Week

Yeah, I got nothing on that one.

1:51pm Damn, this wasn't even a long one and it took me 21 minutes!!

4. That dress is all kind of wrong for the time period. Also outside in general. The tagline also annoys me. Embracing darkness is no way to defeat it. I am probably prejudiced against everything to do with this book though as it is recalling my fresh anger over the first one. I can only hope she is looking into the water to watch a certain someone she's pushed off that bridge sink to the bottom of it.

7. lol-and your link made it even better

10. Hmmm...if there are zombie kangaroos in that book I may read it.

14 Exactly. cover=awful blurbs=sold! At least it's an e-book so you don't actually have to look at the cover.

16 haha yes-my first thought was, "That does not look comfy." I don't even do snuggling on the couch anymore. Sip straight to the bed I say.

17. Gross. It is nicely done but I think I will skip it. Doesn't look like a book for me.

20. THERE ARE SIX OF THESE BOOKS NOW!?! Ugh. How did that happen?

27. Hahah Yes! I do like the cover though. Also it's a nice reminder I've been wanting to read the first book.

CB2: The original for sure. That is not how I pictured Tyson at all.

I FREAKING LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!! This is hysterical. I will now go back and read all your cover snark entries since the beginning of time.

But not at work. Because I am making unlady-like snorting noises and my coworkers are giving me the WTF? look.

#4. I don't think I even noticed her dress was sliding off her body. Well ... My cousin went crazy (mad?) and started randomly stripping in places. We'll go with that.

#14. So when her acting career fizzled out, Leelee Sobieski turned to modeling for book covers?

#16. Yeah, this is HOT, but I also knew that girl's ass was hitting the floor of the car right after the photog got that shot. No way that works in RL.

#18. So the Sims are on book covers now? Awesome.

1. Love your observation about the gender dynamics. As for asthetics this cover looks like they play too much with filters or shadows and highlights.

2. EWW. Do not like. I really liked the original cover for book 1! These ones look horrible.

4. Really liked the first book's cover. HATE this one. I just don't get the same vibe and it doesn't all come together for me.

5. Hate the title, but like the font/texture treatment and the rest of the cover...

6. Love the colors, but the hair over face/eyes thing is forever going to remind me of The Ring, eek!

7. LOLOLOL at your comment.

9. EWW. Although it is pretty striking. But why is the shutterstock watermark still there???

14. So conflicted! Horrible cover & name, but like you said, those blurbs (especially the Buffy reference!!!). What's with the kangaroo reading a book/e-reader button? LOL.

15. I don't really like when the author's name is as big as the title, but the rest is pretty.

16. Love the covers for this series, but the models always look like complete opposite of what I envision them to be, haha. I also looked at head/foot placement and width of the seat and was like, NAH that looks uncomfortable, haha.

17. HOLY SHIT. Creepy!

18. This drawn look kinda creeps me out. Also took me a minute to realize that it wasn't both her hands locked around his chest, but her right arm and his left. Seems like a super awkward pose.

23. I like this, but this series' covers all seem the exact same.

Cover Battle 3. AHHHH I want to cry. That zombie thing is terrifying! I would never be able to touch that book :( :(

1. There's ANOTHER one of those books?! Oh man. I could hardly finish the first one. The prose is just SO purple, and the book is SO melodramatic. (And on a side note, I'm not sure many women COULD carry a passed out guy. Unless he was tiny, and there was serious adrenaline going on. lol)

2. I thought this was self-pub! Oh man. Penguin fails.

3. I actually like this one, but I like Cinda Williams Chima's covers, so...that's probs why.

4. I don't care if it looks like she's stripping, I LOVE THIS COVER! OMG SO PRETTY!

5. Meh.

6. LOL to your comment.

7. Gah, I hate romance covers. Why can't contemp and paranormal romances have cool, classy covers? Will the world end? Obviously so.

8. And if I see the word "desire" in another title or blurb, Imma throw something.

9. I like these covers. I think they're so interesting and unique. But then again, bees don't really scare me. haha

10. OMG that's so freaky! HAHA!

11. Blah.

12. HAHAHAHAHA! Omg the tagline. Your comment. LOL

13. Oh, those ARE similar. Dirigible ftw.

14. The glasses though. LOL!

15. I like this except for the eye. It looks weird, I feel like.

16. Okay, this cover irritates me. He looks like he's 35! I know that boys on YA covers are almost always older, but wow, this one is even worse than normal. And I had such high hopes when I saw the smaller pic of it, because I was like, "Poor Katie McGarry, her covers are always horrible, but this one looks better." Until I saw it bigger and was like "Why is the boy middle aged?!" *sigh*

17. I am also freaked out. I literally just made a freaked out face. haha

18. I normally like illustrated covers, but umm...I didn't mean like this one. lol

19. I just snickered at your comment, I don't even know why.

20. It DOES look very Pixar-esque. But I think she has pretty covers, considering the books are fairy tale-ish anyway.

21. Ugh. What have they done to my beloved Jem?! Do not approve!

22. I shouldn't have laughed that much at your comment, but omg I totally did.

23. No. This one is cool! Her dress looks like dragon scales! APPROVE!

24. Meh.

25. I totally didn't see his boobs until you mentioned it. Now I can't stop seeing that. Thanks. haha

26. I'd never noticed that about the titles, but you're right. I guess it's because so many of them deal with a MC that's been abused? Who knows.

27. I like this cover just because it has a POC on it, but I also like the punching title thing. I don't know if that was purposeful, but it looks cool nonetheless. Also, the background is BALLER!

28. It doesn't look weak to me, more just relaxed, like she's taking a nap. Ah, naps, how lovely.

29. Creepy tagline.

30. Nope, I like it, and you can't convince me otherwise. I refuse.

31. Meh.

4. I need that dress. It would be perfect to wear when wallowing in self-pity. I wonder if she'd let me borrow it for this evening...

9. That makes me feel almost as uncomfortable as the cover of Stung.

11. He-he *grabs crotch*

14. Will absolutely adored the first book in this series. I guess I should go read it now.

16. I'm so old that I see a pinched nerve in that picture.

19. Did somebody fart?

20. I want that dress, too. I would've done well back in the days of long dresses.

23. I think I kind of love this a little. The bottom of the skirt looks like bloody scales. And smoke, of course.

24. Will there be storm troopers? I do love storm troopers.

27. That's Keanu Reeves. O.O

CB1. I'm going with Hungarian. I love the junk tree.

CB2. The tie-in is ridiculous!

CB3. Baby Smeagol!

4. I do think it's pretty, but definitely still snarkable. It's not a logical cover, and I don't see why it couldn't be slightly more time period appropriate. Also, you are correct about that title.

9. Just wait.

10. Isn't it wonderful?

14. Geekomancy is the first book.

16. His feet look pretty flat too.

23. Seriously, the salmon background is awful. Maybe it's to represent that these spend a lot of time in the Everneath? Though I don't know if this one does. I don't know what the fuck that is.

25. And that it looked shitty on the first one.

2. Glowing blue sword is more LOTR.

I actually really like the cover for Warrior, surprisingly enough. I really like the vibrancy of the red, and the little fox thing silhouetted behind the dagger is pretty cute. The cover for Her Dark Curiosity bores me a bit, though. Her dress is gorgeous, but it's rather dull. Good point about her taking her dress off in both covers, too. Odd.

And I... I really honestly don't know how I feel about the Evertrue cover. I'm not a fan of her dress in this one (it does like slightly candy cane-ish, now that you mention it--like little sugar crystals scattered across her dress), and the direction in which she's facing is...odd...

10 - OMG that gif! Awwww! :(

Wait.. OMG That's a Newsflesh novella? How did I only notice this now? Wtf's with the Kangaroo then? Watch for Kangaroo zombies? O_O

12 - Bahaha worst randomness ever! Also, anal!

17 - That's a cool cover!

21 - Ugh. Cash cow!!

23 - Oh I hadn't seen this cover reveal. Hmm. I agree they're getting worse I'm not a fan of this one. I like the smoke effect, but the girl looks so bored!

25 - *dies*

27 - I like what they did with his hand and the title! That's kind of cool!

29 - Gah I hate how the author's name is not even with the book title. And if it is well it doesn't look like it is!

30 - Yeah I thought that was really plain but I loved Drowning Instinct so I'm excited for this. Also, Promise of Shadows is a gorgeous cover! At least until they re-design it *eyeroll*

CB1 - Oh yeah the Mexican cover is awesome! It looks like an MG though the Hunagrian too!

CB3 - EWWWWWWWW!!! Also, I read book 1 and DNFed it within 20 pages lol.

9. EWWWW *SCROLLS PAST VERY FAST*

17. Literally my first thought was "Shit, her ass must be frozen", and then I was like, "Oh, blood."

21. Regardless of anybody's Cassie Clare opinions, that is... not a good manga drawing, no? The face is less than optimal.

23. A CANDY CANE MADE OF SOLIDIFIED BLOOD AND CLOUDS. YES SHE DOES but also EW.

16. He does! I meant to comment on that but forgot. He does look like they're sort of dangerous teacher. Haha.

18. I really don't want to look at their hands anymore.

22. We must be next to his shoulder or something.

28. Same. I know I shouldn't, but...I do.

2. His hair does look incredibly stupid.

3. AHHHHHHH

4. That's supposed to be a bridal gown? O_O

9. I can't even look at the first cover.

10. You would know!

16. You did not just call me mature! Oh lawd.

23. Good point. I did just read an amazing book with an intersex MC.

25. lol.

3. Good plan.

3. That's how they get you.

12. Pretty sure it's a D, because a P would look more like the R, but, yeah, the font's not good.

15. Yeah, not a big fan of the eye.

16. The car is quite cute.

17. Really. How do you end up naked in the forest and covered in blood? How?

20. I hate when they don't capitalize.

1. I don't like this cover either, but I expect the book to be be terrible. At least it matches. :P

4. She does look like she's stripping! Huh...I hate the font.

9. I really like the covers for this series.

16. Forget the uncomfortablness....ew feet.

17. I really like this one for some reason! I guess I want to know why she's naked and bloody in the snow!

23. Like I said in one of my GR groups yesterday morning, she looks like a bloody octopus.

Cover Battle...

3. Uhh...no thanks to the UK version! WTF!

WTF of the Week...

1. I actually kind of like it, but only because there's an inter-racial couple.

1. The puddle sort of looks like an upsidedown smiley face. *stares*

4. Hahahaha, that would be awesome.

7. Well played.

9. First cover was WAY creepier.

12. Seriously, having your hair in your face makes everything difficult.

14. I'm guessing it's the indie publisher's symbol. Don't really know.

16. Exactly. The top is even down!

23. OMG, she does look a bit like Ursula!

25. Sure would.

3. THE WORST.

4. Sure is. Unless it's the Darkling you're embracing. Maybe some good sex would make him chill. Haha.

16. Skip the middle man. lol!

20. I'd never heard of them. Apparently you have.

27. This seems to be the crowd favorite.

20. Yes. I read the first one. It's Christian YA Fantasy and that first book was classic emotionally manipulative, cheesy, Christian fiction all the way. Which made me so sad because it is a retelling of George and the Dragon from The Faerie Queen.

Awwww, thank you! Oh yes, Cover Snark is a bit NSFW, not because of the sexy times but because of the giggles.

4. Oh really? Now there's a fun kind of crazy. O_o

14. OMG, I see it. Haha. What happened to her?

16. Hahaha.

18. Are the Sims really this creepy?

1. Most definitely. The cover is TOO dark.

2. Me too. Not anything outstanding, but a very pretty cover. These are horrid.

4. Very much agreed.

5. I do like the font treatment. The rest, though, not so much.

9. No clue. I imagine it got leaked before this was approved and they bought the image.

14. Probably the kangaroo is the logo of the indie publisher.

15. It's smaller than the Wake but larger than to Darkness. Torn.

16. The one for Echo was about right, but, yeah, not seeing Isaiah.

23. For me it's all about Everneath.

3. Chuckling and frowning over this one. I hate it when book covers are similar to other series.
4. I thought this was a Fallen cover, not gonna lie.
8. HA. I ship it.
9. Whyyyyyyyyyyy do they insist on torturing me with evil bugs and insects.
16. I love how he's just lounging on the seat while she clings on for dear life.
23. OMG I love it! It's like a strawberry Cornetto. *drools*

In other news, I also prefer illustrated covers to movie tie-ins. Logan's face looks weird on that one.

ERMEHGERD I LOVE THE UK COVERS OF THE ZOM-B SERIES. *tries very hard not to fangirl all over the place*

1. Or a cover where the girl is dragging a passed out boy would work for me too.
2. The font and blurb and series title is so confusing and overdone. Blah. No thanks.
3. I immediately thought Graceling, but yeah, ripoff.
4. Yeah her trying to get all naked is pretty lame, but other than that I actually like this cover.
5. Why do we have to see the ugly bottoms of her shoes?
6. What exactly makes someone an AMAZON BESTSELLING AUTHOR? Nevermind, forget I asked, I really don't care.
7. Seriously, what is wrong with his hair? What a horrible photoshop job.
10. hahahahaha Zombieroos. And there are apparently zombie elephant seals as well. I can't think up a cool name mix for those though. Fail.
12. What does that even mean?!
14. So what's up with her shoulder fascination?
16. hahaha How uncomfortable that would be was my first though too. Plus... hello red. And the tattoos on his arm look WEIRD.
17. WHOA. Uh. She must be cold. lol
29. I think that tagline should have been put somewhere else because I read it as "Let me Love You. Without You." And that doesn't really make any sort of sense.
30. I'm actually a fan of this one, but you're right that Promise of Shadows cover is even better.

CB 1. The Mexican cover is pretty awesome but I LOVE the colors in the Hungarian one.
CB 2. Well, I hate all movie tie-in covers so...
CB 3. OMG That is beyond fucking creepy.
