Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors Who Deserve Their Own Reality Show

To be honest, I almost skipped this week, but I just started participating in Top Ten Tuesday and don't want to punk out already. I thought about doing the freebie business, but decided to be a champ and just do this thing. Also, you should note that unless otherwise specified, I pictured the shows as talk shows, not cameras following them creepily around their daily lives.

1. John Green - If this man is not on every single list with this topic, I will be stunned. Actually, my first two are coming straight from The Broke and the Bookish's list, because they're so damn right. Because of his YouTube channel, there's no doubting that John Green has the charisma required for a show. He's one of the cleverest people alive, and I love to listen to him talk about things.

2 + 3. Maureen Johnson & Libba Bray - These guys need to be on a show together and go on crazy adventures. Based on their twitter interactions, I suspect this show to be completely insane, but hilarious and impossible to stop watching. Plus, there will be other authors dropping by, like Robin Wasserman, and road trips to people like Judy Blume! And, yes, I may have taken a picture from Maureen's twitter. But she wouldn't have posted it if she didn't want everyone to know that she and Libba Bray hang out on fancy beds.

4. Daniel Marks - Yet another author who I know is amusing from his YouTube presence. I also know that Danny loves to cook, so I expect him to do a cooking show (think My Drunk Bookish Kitchen).

5. Elizabeth Eulberg - I just met Elizabeth Eulberg for the first time at a panel/signing, and she LOVES to talk. She is also exceedingly interesting when she talks, thank goodness. I would love to watch her talk about things!

6. Jackson Pearce - Another author I just recently saw. Jackson is delightful, plus her long, shiny blonde hair would look awesome on the TV. I'm not sure what her show would be about. Like most of them, probably about the crazy things she's learned researching her book, like a purity ball episode and so forth. Mostly, I suspect it would be rambling, as she tends to lose her train of thought a lot and then do whatever comes into her head. Definitely a comedy show.

7. Jay Kristoff - Okay, so this one is completely on spec. I've never actually seen Jay speak, either in person or on the internet. HOWEVER, I have the feeling he would do a delightfully ranty and swear-filled show. He would definitely have to be on cable. Also, does he have an accent? If so, another good reason for giving him a show.

8. Cara Lynn Shultz - Yet again, I've not actually met Cara or watched a video of her. However, I follow her on Twitter and I've read her books. She's funny, and she has great taste in music. I suspec the show would have something to do with music. And...I don't really know, but I'm guessing it would be awesome.

9. Ilsa J. Bick - She can counsel crazy young folks and feed them tasty food. Cooking/intervention show! Woo! Original. I realize I'm sort of losing my grip on reality shows at this point. DEAL.

10. Oscar Wilde - Okay, I know, he's not alive. Like super not alive, as in dead for over a century. No, I don't want a show about zombie Wilde nomming on people. All I'm saying is that a reality show about Wilde, either somehow captured way back when or if he were by magic alive now, would be awesome! Don't pretend you wouldn't watch it.

Yes to this entire list. I'm slow clapping right now.

Zombie Wilde would probably be the best show ever, and you know I would watch any show with John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Libba Bray!

I'd watch John Green on anything. He's totally my author crush (yes, I know he's married, and I'm not single either, but still...).

LOVE this list but I'm surprised Meg Cabot isn't on there. Have you ever met her? She is hysterical and OMG Rachel Hawkins needs one too, I would so watch that!

I considered Meg Cabot, but I knew less about her in person than I did the rest of these folks. I'm glad she's amazing and hope to meet her someday!

I haven't read any Rachel Hawkins yet...

Girl, I totally feel you on that. He is so attractive and so nerdy and intelligent, which really goes hand in hand for why probably at least half of the blogosphere has a crush on him. :)
