Waiting on Wednesday (6)

Yet again, the book I am waiting on is a dystopia. Everyone's shocked, right? Other reasons I'm waiting so hard for this one are: 1) that it's Asian 2) that I know Kristoff will really make this dystpian world epically awful 3) that I've loved reading Kristoff's writing on Twitter and his blog. Kristoff is very sarcastic, darkly funny and doesn't care if he pisses people off, or so it seems to me, and I totally dig that. Too bad the launch party's in Australia or I would so be there to get my own signed copy.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

A DYING LAND
The Shima Imperium verges on the brink of environmental collapse; decimated by clockwork industrialization and the machine-worshipers of the Lotus Guild. The skies are red as blood, land choked with toxic pollution, wildlife ravaged by mass extinctions.

AN IMPOSSIBLE QUEST
The hunters of Shima's imperial court are charged by their Shōgun to capture a thunder tiger – a legendary beast, half-eagle, half-tiger. But any fool knows thunder tigers have been extinct for more than a century, and the price of failing the Shōgun is death.

A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL
Yukiko is a child of the Fox clan, possessed of a hidden gift that would see her executed by the Lotus Guild. Accompanying her father on the Shōgun’s hunt, she finds herself stranded: a young woman alone in Shima’s last wilderness, with only a furious, crippled thunder tiger for company. Even though she can hear his thoughts, even though she saved his life, all she knows for certain is he’d rather see her dead than help her.

But together, the pair will form an indomitable friendship, and rise to challenge the might of an empire.

¡Hi!
So far I have not read anything about this author, but the book seems very interesting, I also really like.
And I like your blog a lot, showing interesting news. (Sorry for the way of expressing myself, I'm from Spain and not very good English).
¡Kisses!

I'm not the biggest fan of the cover, but the synopsis is very interesting! I'm not quite sure how to categorize it, which only makes it more intruguing.
Thank you for stopping by today!
