BEA Book Haul, Part Three: Bloomsbury, Sourcebooks, HMH, S&S, Hyperion, and One Sneaky Scholastic Title

This third installment features a lot of publishers. One of the Scholastic titles sneaked into the Simon & Schuster pile, so it ended up separate from its brethren, which will be in the last haul. Oh well. I tried to be organized. *fails*

Bloggers Mentioned:
Steph and Kat of Cuddlebuggery
Kara of Great Imaginations (who made it possible for me to snag most of those Bloomsbury books)

Bloomsbury:
Wild Cards (Wild Cards #1) - Simone Elkeles
A Fiend in Need (Dark Lord #2) - Jamie Thomson
Starry Nights - Daisy Whitney
Wake Up Missing - Kate Messner
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) - Sarah J. Maas

Sourcebooks:
If He Had Been with Me - Laura Nowlin
Blaze (or Love in the Time of Supervillains) - Laurie Boyle Crompton

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt:
Entangled - Amy Rose Capetta
The Testing - Joelle Charbonneau

Scholastic:
Sorrow's Knot - Erin Bow

Simon & Schuster:
Starglass (Starglass #1) - Phoebe North
The Lord of Opium (Matteo Alacran #2) - Nancy Farmer

Disney-Hyperion:
These Broken Stars (Starbound #1) - Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
False Sight (False Memory #2) - Dan Krokos

Macmillan:
Havisham - Ronald Frame
The Winner's Curse (Winner's Trilogy #1) - Marie Rutkoski

That dark USA paperback cover is the best version of 'Throne of Glass' cover I have seen. Looks so awesome. :) This was such a fun read and Celaena was bookworm and kick-ass and girly, so I can not wait to read more. :)

Blaze (or Love in the Time of Supervillains) is the book that sparked most interest from me in this pile. But I will wait for your review to see if it delivered promised snark. ;)

I loved The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. It is similar to The Hunger Games but it's not at the same time. LOL The opinions are divided so far, but I hope you will like it too.

Congrats on getting that super only-awesome-bloggers-allowed ARC of The Winner's Curse. ;)

I requested Wild Cards from Netgalley, but got rejected :(

I actually think I like the lighter version slightly more, but they're both gorgeous, so no complaints. I loved Throne of Glass. Crown of Midnight should be arriving from another blogger today, hopefully.

I've seen some meh reviews for Blaze, but it looks so darn cute!

Good to know that it wasn't disturbingly similar to THG for you. Not sure when I'll get to it, since it's already published, but I am curious to see what I will think.

I'll be reading more of The Winner's Curse as soon as I finish Fangirl.

Ah, good! I know Renae didn't like it, but we disagree almost all the time, so it's all good.

I have Wild Cards from NG and am looking forward to reading it. Wake Up Missing sounds pretty cool. I still haven't read Throne of Glass. I ended up putting The Testing aside. I tried to read it, but it wasn't doing anything for me. I might not have been in the mood for it.

Fabulous books hon!!! :)

These Broken Stars looks so good, I am super jealous of everyone who got that one. I am also super curious about If He Had Been With Me. I was really excited about it and then I started reading reviews from people just tearing it down so my excitement level dwindled exponentially. You shall be my test reader and then I will do what you tell me. If you ever find time to read it in your crazy schedule. Maybe I'll just read it myself *sigh*

Oooh, Throne of Glass is awesome. Huh, you tend to be less picky than me, so I'm not sure if that bodes well, but mood can be an issue!

MWAHAHAHA, live in jealousy. I hope it's so so good. We'll see. Also, I probably won't read If He Had Been with me for years, so, yeah, it's on you.

You lucky duck! Bloomsbury is not cooperating with EU bloggers out of UK so I will have to wait for publication date to read it. Oh well, I have a lot of books to keep me company until then. :D

Nope The Testing was not disturbingly similar to THG and with university/exam theme it appealed to my inner nerd. :) I am curious to read what you will think about it too.

Ah fangirl *sigl* love the cover and blurb for that one. I hope it's as good as it promises to be!

Oh, that sucks. It's nice to live in the US as a blogger.

That's good. I do love nerdy things. :)

OMG IT'S SO GOOD I CAN'T EVEN.

Oooo this is my favorite haul so far! I feel like Bloomsbury and Hyperion had the ARCs I would have wanted this year.

Hyperion has a bunch of great stuff coming out! Too bad Bloomsbury does not want to work with me, because I NEED Where the Stars Still Shine.

This just confirms my theory that BEA is, indeed, a bookworm's heaven. Goshdarnit, you brought back so many awesome books! Especially These Broken Stars. Hopefully D*H will put it up on NetGalley so I can get a chance to read it. Also, Sorrow's Knot! Can't wait to see what you think of it.

So excited for These Broken Stars. I'm skeptical of Sorrow's Knot. If you really want it, I would be happy to send it to you if you're in the US. I have no idea where you live. Haha.

OHHH... I read that book too about the boy in the painting! I just searched Goodreads for the past 5 minutes because it was going to bug me... Darker Still, right? I hated that book. Wow, The Winner's Curse sounds awesome. Lol I love large print... I feel like such an old person admitting that but whatever.

YES! Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber. That book was unfortunate. :( Maybe some day I too will like large print. But for now, nope.

I need to pick up False Memory - I loved his MG title The Planet Thieves. You got some awesome books. I love seeing what others picked up and I didn't!
Of those you listed I only grabbed Throne of Glass, Entangled and The Testing and These Broken Stars and Sorrows knot thousgh I really wanted Blaze and possibly Starglass

False Memory was really awesome, not quite perfect, but a very strong read.

At least Blaze is already out and available. Starglass wasn't AT BEA featured by the publishers. I only got it because Phoebe North was wandering around and Steph has a smartphone.

Didn't I give you my copy of Wild Cards because I refuse to read Simone Elkeles? Or was that Giselle? I'm pretty sure it was you. So where's my shout out? Huh? Huh? :D

You were lucky to grab a copy of The Testing. I missed that one, but now I am really looking forward to hearing what you think and if it's worth reading. I know you will be critical and I need that before I invest my money!

You did. Sorry, I forgot. I'll add you now. JEEZ.

Well, that one is in SHS, so hopefully I'll read it sometime soon, though I've got about a year's worth of books in there. However, I'm planning to read more if I can. We'll see. I always think I can read more. I doubt I'll want to keep The Testing when I do eventually read it, so I could send it to you when I'm done, especially if it's terrible. :p Or, if you know Kayla Beck, I think she has one she'd be willing to part with maybe.

Cool to find out about Havisham-I really want to reread Great Expectations as an adult instead of as a kid for school. I think I will get so much more out of it now and will enjoy this prequel.

Oh man, I just love your vlogs! Highlights include but not limited to: when you yelled out to know what Percy was doing. It reminded me of me yelling at my little guy Nox when he's up to no good! I also loved how you said your memories about False Memory might be...you know, false. As for your haul itself, this one is pretty epic all-around. We share These Broken Stars, False Sight, Throne of Glass & Lord of Opium (though I still haven't read book 1 of this one but it IS on the wishlist. And who am I to refuse a book when it's practically thrown at me?!) Anyways, The Testing and Starglass are two I wish I'd gotten, even though I am a little scared that Starglass might just be a pretty cover, I HAVE to know for sure!

Yeah, I need to try it too, but Dickens tends to go pretty slowly, so I'm putting it off. Haha.

Awww, thanks! He looked like he was about to scratch something! Had to yell.

The House of the Scorpion is really good; I would definitely recommend reading that first!
