On My New Arrivals Shelf (70)

So far as books go, this week I got a shipment of pretties from YA Books Central (which is looking for more reviewers by the way!), which is super exciting, except for the fact that I totally already DNFed one of them. I try to be so careful with my research, but sometimes there's not much out there when I'm digging around.
Oh, also, this week I remembered to give you some Perseus love.

Of Beast and Beauty - Stacey Jay: I really liked Jay's Romeo & Juliet inspired series in spite of myself, so this one which sounds even better ought to be great. Even better, Gillian (Writer of Wrongs) and Lili (Lili's Reflections) said it rocks.

Falcon in the Glass - Susan Fletcher: I don't really know anything about this one, but it's about glassblowing, and set in Venice, which really appealed to me.

Burning - Elana K. Arnold: Jenni (Alluring Reads) told me I HAD to read this, and since we generally agree on contemporaries I am excite!

Dangerous Girls - Abigail Haas: Someone, I think it was Blythe Harris (Finding Bliss in Books) put this on my Sadie Hawkins list, so it's happening! Also, everyone liked this, so even though I'm not huge on mysteries in general, I expect good things!

Waterfell - Amalie Howard: Mermaid books have betrayed me before, but it has to be possible for good ones to exist, right? *crosses fingers and wiggles fins*

Into That Forest - Louis Nowra: I hoped this would be sort of Life of Pi-ish. I was wrong. Super not my writing style. Sad day.

Not a Drop to Drink - Mindy McGinnis: This has been getting mostly great reports, and Ashleigh (Birth of a New Witch) just took the role of black sheep, so this should hopefully be a winner for me!

Once We Were - Kat Zhang: Long-awaited sequel! I really loved the concept and philosophical elements to What's Left of Me.

On My New Arrivals Shelf (69)

Dear friends, I miss vlogging. However, I am too lazy to try my webcam again and have it fail me, because my tears. Also, I'll have to work myself up to purchasing a more costly webcam that will hopefully last longer than a few months. So, enjoy my exposition in word form.

Antigoddess (Goddess War #1) - Kendare Blake: YES. I totally didn't think I was going to get this, but then it came and I danced around with it. By the way, the feather on the hardback cover feels like a feather, which is majorly trippy. Tor Teen, thank you for this pretty and I am excited to start it this weekend!

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry - : Went to Goodwill yesterday and bought books and shirts and a dress. This is such a new one to be at Goodwill, but hurrah for me!
Nothing Like You - Lauren Strasnick: I enjoyed Then You Were Gone, so when I saw this one at Goodwill, I snapped it up.
The Orchid House - Lucinda Riley: Dudes! This one was on my Amazon wishlist, but then I found it at Goodwill in great condition, so winning!

On My New Arrivals Shelf (68)

Hello, friends. Sadly, vlogging has been suspended for a while, due to the sudden death of my webcam, which has decided to no longer have audio. As such, written book haul posts are resuming. Anyway, this is mostly stuff I bought for myself as a blogoversary (this month) and birthday (next month) present. Things for me! I probably won't read them for ages, but I feel better for having them.

Bitter Greens - Kate Forsyth: Thanks to Jaz (Pixelski) for helping me get my hands on this one. For some reason TBD would let her buy it but not me, so she purchased it and I paid her back.
The Wild Girl - Kate Forsyth: This one I had to buy from TBD as an Amazon seller, because, again, it didn't show up as on option on TBD for me. What the hells is that about, yo? Anyway, both of these sound like amazing fairy tale retellings and I have heard only glorious things about Kate Forsyth's books.
The Night Itself - Zoë Marriott: There's still no US release date for this one, and I loved Marriott's last novel, Shadows on the Moon, so I had to have this, especially sine it was ten bucks.

If You Find Me - Emily Murdoch: Look what I got in for Sadie Hawkins! This one's coming up in a few weeks. I choose ahead of time so that the book will have time to come in. Judith (Paper Riot) and Jenni (Alluring Reads) should be happy about this!

However, I am incredibly excited about this one from Harlequin Teen. HECK YES, KATIE MCGARRYYYYY! Isaiah wasn't my favorite in the last two books, but, hey, Beth wasn't but I loved Dare You To, so I am totally ready for this. All of the thanks, Harlequin!
