On My New Arrivals Shelf (68)

Hello, friends. Sadly, vlogging has been suspended for a while, due to the sudden death of my webcam, which has decided to no longer have audio. As such, written book haul posts are resuming. Anyway, this is mostly stuff I bought for myself as a blogoversary (this month) and birthday (next month) present. Things for me! I probably won't read them for ages, but I feel better for having them.

For Review
The Bride Wore Size 12 - Meg Cabot: I'm on the TLC Book Tour for this one, and I'm super excited, because I love this series. More Heather Wells fun!

Gifted
Man Made Boy - Jon Skovron: Steph (Cuddlebuggery) was nice enough to send this to me, because she got a duplicate. Looks like it could be funny, so I'm hoping for good things.

"Purchased" from Random Buzzers
Indigo - Gina Linko: Reviews on Linko's first book weren't that great, but I had Buzzers' bucks burning a whole in my pocket and this still sounded like it could be interesting. So why not, right?

Purchased
Bitter Greens - Kate Forsyth: Thanks to Jaz (Pixelski) for helping me get my hands on this one. For some reason TBD would let her buy it but not me, so she purchased it and I paid her back.
The Wild Girl - Kate Forsyth: This one I had to buy from TBD as an Amazon seller, because, again, it didn't show up as on option on TBD for me. What the hells is that about, yo? Anyway, both of these sound like amazing fairy tale retellings and I have heard only glorious things about Kate Forsyth's books.
The Night Itself - Zoë Marriott: There's still no US release date for this one, and I loved Marriott's last novel, Shadows on the Moon, so I had to have this, especially sine it was ten bucks.

Library
If You Find Me - Emily Murdoch: Look what I got in for Sadie Hawkins! This one's coming up in a few weeks. I choose ahead of time so that the book will have time to come in. Judith (Paper Riot) and Jenni (Alluring Reads) should be happy about this!

I REALLY want to start reading the Heather Wells series. When Meg Cabot is on, there's no one I love more. Also, WHY does the US get no The Night Itself? I should have bought it when I saw it in the UK. Grr. Curious about Man Made Boy. Wasn't curious enough to try for it myself, but curious to see what you think!

I miss your face. And Percy's face. RIP, duplicitous webcam.

Curious about IF YOU FIND ME and MAN MADE BOY! I have not read any Meg Cabot for so long, so my interest is piqued with that one as well.

CURSE YOU, WEBCAM! Keeping Christina and Percy away from us. Psh.

I can't wait for the new Meg Cabot. I love the Heather Wells series. Man Made Boy looks awesome. I'm excited to read that one. I keep hoping Bitter Greens will show up in my library's system, but no luck so far. Great haul this week!

I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon and TBD had some shady deal going on...only probably not a deal since Amazon owns TBD. Hrm. Anyway, woot on the Kate Forsyth books. I own three of hers and I've read...none. I also purchased Marriott's novel and am quite keen to sink my teeth into them. Eventually! Enjoy them books!

Wait you vlog!? How did I miss this!? I have been email fed your posts for ages now. Now I feel awful. The proof of "oh shit, too many emails" is never a good thing because it follows with DELETE EVERYTHING NOT WORK OR FAMILY RELATED!

I'm glad you were able to get your hands on the Kate F books - weird that TBD was being annoying for you! Enjoy your haul :)

Hello Kate Forsyth. We don't know each other, but I think we should sort that shit out.

Enjoy :-D

For some reason I thought you'd already read If You Find Me. Maybe it's because several of us did around the same time. Anyway, it's stunning.

I have heard of Forsyth but haven't read any of her books yet. Hope you enjoy all those, girl. :D

OMG, Gillian, you would LOVE IT. Some of her best work, I think. I do not know, but I get The Night Itself, so all is right with the world.

WEBCAM! *shakes fist at sky*

Me too. Obvi. Meg Cabot is the greatest, except when she decides to be all serial like in Abandon. Then things are terrible.

Heather Wells is one of her best series imo. :) I wouldn't hold your breath on that. It's not licensed in the US.

Fabulous book haul, Christina! I've had my eye on Bitter Greens because there is a redheaded cover for this book and a very beautiful one, so of course I felt I must read it. Hope you enjoy all your reads no matter when you manage to read them. :)

Ha, I'm sure they do, but it was so dang frustrating! All of her books sound so good! And the covers. Gah!

I got a copy of The Bride Wore Size 12 just yesterday. I'm really hoping it works as a standalone because I haven't actually read this series before!! Kate Forsyth's books all sound freaking amazing. Why must all the good ones be so hard to get a hold of???

"I probably won't read them for ages, but I feel better for having them." <-- THIS. So true.

Looking forward to see what you think of The Night Itself! The premise sounds very good! I've never heard of Bitter Greens before, *adds to list*.

Re: TBD. They usually don't let people with US IPs buy UK editions and vice versa. I'm not sure why they do that because Canadians and other internationals can access all.

I'm actually really interested in Indigo so I want to know what you think, though I know you will probably not get to it for a while. Hmmmm, maybe Sadie Hawkins Sunday?

Did you get The Night Itself from The Book Depository too? I might have to look into that. Because I really want it. I love Zoe Marriott.

I cannot wait for you to read If You Find Me! :D
