On My New Arrivals Shelf (7)

First, I'm going to tackle the books that arrived while I was at BEA and after I got home. After that, I'll show you the stuff I brought home on the airplane. The books I shipped are not with me yet; I will stress about them until they are!

Thanks Claire Legrand! This is the cutest copy ever!
The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien

Thanks Tor! I couldn't show a picture of this one, because my parents immediately took it to read...
Redshirts - John Scalzi

Thanks to Little, Brown and Company - I won this WAY back before I read it, so this will be a giveaway or will go to a blogger friend if someone wants it
The Lifeboat - Charlotte Rogan

Thanks Penguin! I already read this and didn't love it, but this will make an excellent giveaway for dystopian August. :)
America Pacifica - Anna North (unsolicited)

Timepiece - Myra McEntire

THANKS TO THOMAS DUNNE BOOKS AND BOOKALICIOUS PAM!!!
Stormdancer - Jay Kristoff (This book and I were meant to be friends)

Ohhhh I love the cover of Breathe! I'll be reading The Immortal Rules this week, even though vampires are I are not friends.

Great books, can't wait to see what's in those boxes!

I enjoyed The Immortal Rules even though the Iron Fey and I are not friends. They're pretty cool vampires, definitely back to the 'these guys just want to eat you school of vampirism.

I can't wait to see what's in my boxes either, because I'm so afraid they won't come back to me! Especially since some of my most anticipated books are in there!!!

What a pretty cover for the Hobbit! I love it :)

Sadly, I missed the Diviners drops and signings each and every time! Oh well, I can always buy it haha. I think sometimes we forget that! I did snag myself a copy of Fathomless which was endlessly exciting.

Great haul! And you have even more coming!! Think about that! I want a copy of The Diviners and Stormdancer SO freaking bad. I cannot wait until they come out.

And was America Pacifica really that bad? I have been wanting to read that one for awhile.

I've also read the first book in that Maria V. Snyder series. It's AWESOME. Read it soon.

I got The Diviners too! Does that mean you also got the awesome necklace they gave to the people in line for the signing? I'm so excited to read it :-D

Can't wait to see what all you shipped to yourself, too.

I actually kind of sort of stole The Diviners. I picked it up on BBC Monday. There was another event across the hall and they were giving out copies. They didn't check ID and at the time I wasn't positive they weren't for us, so I took one and didn't question it. I should probably go to my shame corner. :-p

Nope, I didn't get the necklace. See above comment about my nefariousness to find out why I have a signed copy and no necklace. I am a terrible person. Haha. I don't regret it though, because it opened up some space in my schedule.

Yeah, I totally danced around when I got home to an email saying I'd won one of the copies of Stormdancer. I have to wait a bit to read it, which is painful. Only til August! I'm thinking review on the third!

America Pacifica wasn't THAT bad. I guess I was meh about it. I don't remember it very well at this point. I think I had trouble connecting to the characters, which never bodes well. From what I remember, the writing was good. And I know it won some awards, so you should definitely still give it a try. You know where you can enter to win a copy come August!

That series is good, but her others are even better. So get on that. Also, Snyder writes amazingly epic sexy times.

Totally not wrong for you to covet all of these. In fact, I think it's a sign that you're a woman of excellent taste! :)

That is your book! I only read it during takeoff and landing. Otherwise I was working on fellow Apocalypsie Leigh Bardugo's book. I loved the opening though, and am super excited to read more. Review will be early August, because I'm doing dystopian all month!

Your haul is magnificent! I'm so sad that I didn't get to go to BEA, and see all of those great books! (I know better than to bring them into my house more than one or two at a time.) I can't WAIT to read your thoughts on The Lifeboat, Breathe, and Stormdancer (which I'm wayyyyy jealous of you for)! ;-)

Okay, I want to hear about The Diviners and 12.21, too. :-D

I've already read The Lifeboat, a couple of months ago, actually. I won it before that. Anyway, I was kind of meh about it. I'll be shipping it off to a blogging friend. :)

I'm seriously loving my haul too! Just wait until Sunday when I post the BULK of my BEA books. It's going to be epic!

The new book sounds really unique and cool. It is also QUITE hefty. You should definitely read Beauty Queens; it is a riot!

STORMDANCER! I was so excited to win one of the giveaways! Thoughts will be up early August, when I'll be reading dystopias/post-apocalyptic all month long!
