On My New Arrivals Shelf (30)

Hello everyone! I've had a good week, and am eager for next week's holiday. I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with my parents and some of my best friends, and a lot of wine. What are you all doing to celebrate the holiday?

Note: the word I couldn't remember: synesthesia. Thanks for telling me this three hours later, brain!

For Review:
Cascade - Maryanne O'Hara
Austensibly Ordinary - Alyssa Goodnight
Marco Impossible - Hannah Moskowitz
King of the Dead (Jeremiah Hunt #2) - Joseph Nassise

Bought:
Days of Blood and Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2) - Laini Taylor
How It Ends - Laura Wiess

*Many thanks to Penguin, TLC Book Tours, Alyssa Goodnight, Macmillan, and Tor for honoring me with review copies!*

OOOOO, I saw Days of Blood and Starlight at Barnes and Nobles last week! I just stood there and stares at the cover for ten ...mesmerizing stuff. Seeing covers in real life is really different from seeing them on screen. And then I also stared at Mystic City for it's shiny, foil-like textured cover. I have a library copy, BUT they put a protective clear cover over it, so the cover doesn't look half as amazing. Same with Chase Novak's Breed (IT HAD SUCH A COOL RUBBERY FEEL TO IT! IT BLOWS MY MIND. WHERE DO THEY GET THIS RUBBERY PAPER!?!?)

Ah! and Cascade! I loved the cover of Cascade when I first saw it on ShelfAwareness' newsletter! the book is on my TBR. looking forward to your review!

*has a runny nose* oh fudge, winter is coming.

oh yes, and Thanksgiving...which I will probably spend stuffing my face with pumpkin pie then frantically typing final thesis papers and finishing my art projects for school (I have new respect for anyone who can do still-motion videos).

Ooooh the cover for Cascade is GORGEOUS! I love it too! I love getting personal notes from authors, it's so thoughtful and makes what we do for a little more worth while. Ooooh in Unltraviolet the girl has synesthesia, it was so cool to be inside her head. I really need to read the Mira Grant books, I hear great things about it. Great haul chick!

OOO, Cascade looks wonderful! And you were saying that you are not getting anything from Penguin :))) Oh, I've got Eyes to See by Nasisse, so very excited to read it at the same time as you! Fab reads this week, Christina! I hope you enjoy them all!

I have a review copy of Cascade as well. Not sure what I'm going to think of it.

And I got Days of Blood & Starlight in the mail this week as well.

Cascade looks gorgeous! You got some great stuff for review! Though, I think my favorite part of your video was the ending you didn't edit out! I miss your face!

Your brain is totally made of fail. ;) Cascade does have a gorgeous cover. I didn't really love the blurb, but I hope you enjoy it!

I have How it Ends and I haven't read it yet. And I can't wait to start Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I hopefully will be reading that one soon.

Great haul!

I am quite curious about Marco Impossible and am very drawn to the cover.

ALSO! DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT. I need to seriously hurry up with current netgalley book and read that one SOON.

Happy, happy, happy reading :-D

Oh yeah, libraries have to do that to protect it. So many hardbacks I've gotten recently have had that velvety feel to them and I just stand there petting them when I open the packages. :)

Cascade had that style, as does Days of Blood and Starlight.

Ugh, I've had a runny nose since fall began. Damn allergies!

Still motion videos? O_O That sounds like an oxymoron.
