On My New Arrivals Shelf (33): Special Black Friday Edition

Guys, I went so crazy buying books on Black Friday, because Book Closeouts was having their semi-annual sale where books are incredibly cheap, and I could not get myself under control. Anyway, this happened. I decided to do a separate haul post, because I barely had time to talk about these alone. As of now, I am on a book buying ban (Goodwill excepted) until further notice (with a suspension for the book signing I'm going to in February (Lenore Appelhans, woo!).

Ahaha! How on earth dd you carry all these home, Christina? :)) Do you have shopping trolley? :) Fantastic haul, and I can't believe that they were all $1-2, I would have gone mad in that shop too!
Passion Play is on my wishlist, so I'll be waiting for your review. I also LOVED After The Golden Age! Glad you managed to buy the copy.
I always loved the cover of Warped and it looked amazing up close, so I do hope you enjoy it more than other reviewers. Have a fab week!

Courtney Summers books? The whole Ruby Oliver quartet? The very last Theatre Illuminata book? That sound you hear is me squealing in joy that you have them. So many loves in one post. <3 If they weren't sitting in my boxes in my dorm room right now, I'd take them out and snuggle them just because. That is a looooooooooot of big, shiny books.

"It's a badass chick who's going to kill things." hahaha that's always awesome!

Jennifer Brown AUTOGRAPHED! Jealous!!! She is so freaking awesome.

hahaha love your ringtone!

I've never heard of Sisters in Sanity, I'll have to get that one.

My first Levithan book was Every Day... that might not be what it's called... all the floating people on the book. I wasn't a fan. Boooo

You got so many signed books! That's freaking awesome!

Love the song!!! hahaha and the kitty in the box!

Some Girls Are is SO GOOD! I loved that book. I need to read Fall For Anything too

Carol Lynch Williams! yay!

Passion Play isn't about a kick-ass chick killing people. You might want to avoid the book or expect deep disappointment.

OH boy. And I thought I went nuts on Black Friday.

Hate List was super good, so hopefully you'll like it too. Definitely interested to see what you think about the Courtney Summers books—I read Some Girls Are this week and was fairly disappointed.

Uh...wow.

Hope you enjoy all your books!

O_O
And I thought buy seven books from Powells on Black Friday was already scary.
You said David Levithan disappointed you recently...which makes me wonder what did you read?
I liked Every Day, it was thought provoking, even though I did not like the ending, nor that some of the subplots were glazed over...and I admit it can be a bit preachy at times. But in the end, I gave it points for being one of the more thought-provoking YA books I've read this year.

Oh yes, COURTNEY SUMMERS. My local library has all of her books (I think,) I just need to borrow them...someday. Watch, I will probably say the same thing a decade later. Oh wells, her book isn't coming out until 2014.

Happy reading, you crazy book-buying woman.

Sarah Addison Allen is one of my favorite authors. The Sugar Queen is a fantastic book, though Garden Spells is my favorite by her. I hope you enjoy it!

Like Mandarin is not Asian themed, FYI. But I did dnf it because I could not connect to the characters. Most people adore it though.

I really need to read the Ruby Oliver series. They are pretty much the only E. Lockhart books I have not read. I hear they are wonderful.

Yes, I loved Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks. Same with Sweethearts.

I hope you enjoy them all, Christina. Awesome haul!

OMG! So many books! This is why I don't go into bookstores. I get extremely carried away. T_T

Great haul! So jealous of the great price. The cheapest deals I can find are usually about $5 and even so I have to multiply x4 due to currency exchange. T.T

And YES, DARYNDA JONES! I had issues with Reyes but the heroine Charley is so fun!

I didn't carry them. That's the hazard of online book shopping! You can't tell how absurd your pile is until you get the bill!

Yay! We agree. After the Golden Age was awesome!

I hope so too about Warped. I probably won't but that does happen sometimes.

I've heard such great things about Brown and Hate List is MASSIVE.

Unicorns for the win!

Hahaha, Darynda Jones! I hope she's that hilarious!

You can always tell who actually watches the videos. :-p

I have no self control. That is what's happening here.

Apparently it's not, but I'm sure it will still be awesome.

Actually, that's an alert sound.

Oh no, you didn't like Every Day? WAHHH.

KITTY!

Ha, I just say things sometimes. I rarely read blurbs, so I never know what books will be about when I start. :-p Duly noted that it's not about fighting!

Wah wah.

I read Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. It was okay, but very pretentious and hipster-tastic, so...YOU WOULD LOVE IT.

I want to love Every Day, but now I am scared. I liked the bit he read aloud.

Thank you!
