Ugh every time I see the covers of Boundless I wish I bought physical copies of that series. They're so shiny.

I'm interested to see what you think of Uses for Boys. I'm really curious about the content. I know Kara was really put off by it. Hopefully my library will get a copy.

All Percy needed apparently is for you to stick to the schedule, Christina! :))) He might need a Facebook fan page soon...
Lovely lovely books! I really want to read Don't Expect Magic and Fade to Black (which I already reserved in my library). Happy reading! :)

You know the blog button people keep bugging you to get? You can totally screencap one of those moments with Percy and use that. 'Christina @ Reader of Fictions + Percy's FC. :P

Fade to Black - Hope it's good too! The cover is awesome.

Don't Expect Magic - Love her tights as well but that sort is usually itchy. D:

Unearthly series!!! I don't usually mind mismatched editions (okay maybe I do but don't care enough to spend money to rectify it) but I really regret getting the first 2 in UK paperbacks. So pretty and shiny. *___* And is it me or the shine on Hallowed's cover looks different from Boundless? I've yet to see the US hardcover/paperback of Hallowed in real life.

I'm insanely jealous you got to go to the Dark Days signing, even more than the one you attended previously. >.< Looking forward to the recap post!

I went to the Dark Days signing in NC and I still can't pronuce Tahereh Mafi's name either. They said it so fast and I only heard it the one time so I'm still leary of mention it in any conversation.

And I totally agree, Brodi Ashton was soooooo funny!

Those review books look awesome, especially Fade to Black. Great books this week! And I love your cat. I wish I could reach through the computer and give him a hug.

Darnit, I really want to meet Mafi and Rossi, although I have met Ashton and Hand because I DID THAT RECENTLY. I'm so happy about that! It must've been so awesome and fun to hear them speak and the doodling and AHHH, I want to meet them so badly.

I've heard the same stuff about Uses for Boys and I'm trying to figure out how that is. I mean, what could possibly be so darn bad? It's making me TOTES WARY over reading this one, which I have yet to do even though I should've started it last month... Story of my life. And ZOMG, your cat and my cat could be brothers from another mother, it's cray. Not just by looks but by actions too xD

The paperback isn't shiny sadly, but Boundless is SUPER shiny. Love it!

Yup, my library didn't by it, so I had a shot at a gift copy and had to know.

Ha, my blog doesn't even have a facebook page, so he's sure not getting one unless he makes it himself. ;)

I hope they're all great, except maybe Uses for Boys.

I could, but it would be Word art and a picture. I could make a button anytime, but I don't want a crappy one!

Boo, itchy tights.

I really should have planned ahead and bought discounted hardbacks of the first too, because the paperbacks aren't shiny like the hardbacks. :(

Weeee! I don't know when I'll do that post. Maybe tonight if I have the energy. Or on Friday. I'm so bad at getting those written.

Awww, I'll hug him for you. He probably wouldn't appreciate it in real life, because he's not very comfortable with people who aren't me.

They're all so much fun! Seriously, authors are hilarious people. I want to take Cynthia Hand's class like whoa.

That's exactly what's driving me. The people who were made most uncomfortable by it are usually fans of sex in books, so I have to know!

Awwwww, that's awesome. Your cat must be the cutest!

I love how much of a chunky munky your cat is!

I love when books have pretty chapter headings.

Way to drop books! BOOK FOUL!

I want to read Uses for Boys really bad but I haven't seen very many good things about it. I'll let you read that one first then I will make my decision!

Yay for buying Hallowed and Boundless, I'm very excited to see what you think of how the series wraps up. I really loved everything about that series.

Ugh, what was up with me on Saturday?

I'll send it to you when I'm done in five years. MWAHAHAHAHA

Yay! I'm excited too, but it will be ages.

YAY! You got Hallowed and Boundless! I'll definitely be stalking your updates while you're reading them. My personal favorite in the entire series in Unearthly (I found it to be the most fun of the three), but the other two are still really great installments. I'd have to say that the conclusion is my least favorite, but still. I think I gave all of the books in the trilogy 4 stars, so that's good. Also, good luck with Uses for Boys. I've heard awful things about that one. I think it was Kara who really hated it. And I also can't wait to see what you think of Through the Ever Night! I thought it was SO much better than Under the Never Sky.

Bad news: I probably won't get to them for a LONG TIME. BUT oh well.I know. I've seen terrible things about Uses for Boys from most of our group, but I'm just so curious. I've heard that about Through the Ever Night. Again, hopefully I find time to read it sometime soon.

I'm like dying that you got a copy of Fade to Black. That is one of my MUST HAVES. I can't wait to hear whether it's good or not!

Uses for Boys? YUCK. Good luck with that.

Your cat is clearly spoiled to death! <3

If I don't like it I'll pass it on to you. Maybe even if I do. lol.

I know. Why'd you make me so curious?

How so?

Uses for Boys. That book needs to go die. Ugh. It made me so angry. Hopefully you like it more than I did though! Lol. :P
Ahh, I seriously can't wait to get my hands on Through the Ever Night! I keep trying to get it and the stupid store never has it in every time I go. :(

I still need to read Hallowed, too. I thought I was the only one who hadn't read the rest of this series yet. Ha!

You had an awesome haul! Happy reading!

I flipped through it and I doubt it. I suspect that writing style will grate on me, but I have to see what the sex scenes are like, because I'm curious what crosses the line in YA.

You could probably call the store and get them to hold it for you.

I'll get to that...someday.

I would volunteer as tribute, that is if you ever want a none vector button. :P

Funny thing is, I saw a really similar pair at a store yesterday! So tempting..this one had nice soft material so it seems like it won't be that itchy.

How much were the hardbacks? :O And take your time.

February 12, 2013 at 10:06 AM
Blogger Christina said...

What does non-vector mean? I'm terrible at this stuff.

Oooh. I want. Unfortunately, tights are so freaking expensive for something that rips so dang easily. They're like 10-15 dollars at cheap stores and I don't get it at all.

Hardbacks are usually 18 or so, and paperbacks are 10. They didn't have any hardbacks, even if I wanted to spend the extra money for the shiny, which I wouldn't have.

Blogger Lynn K. said...

Vectors are like the ones Giselle makes, usually using Illustrator. I suck at that. :P I'm more of a Photoshop user.

I know! have no idea why they're so expensive. Stockings too!

Do you purchase from Amazon? I often drool over the awesome prices for hardbacks there. Just last month Froi of the Exiles hardcover was only $7.

Oh, huh! Well, if you wanted to make me a button, I wouldn't say no. Hopefully my designer will finish making my new site someday, but he's busy and doing it as a favor to me in his free time, so it's taking for-freaking-ever.

Oh yeah, I do buy most of my new books from Amazon. I know most people hate them, but the books are so much cheaper there and I can't justify spending more for the same thing. Pretty much the only exception is when I go to book signings.

I'd be happy to make one but you don't have to say yes if you don't really want one. :)

Wish I could order from Amazon. But the shipping fees are horrendous for international addresses.
